Description
Learn how to operate Bogaudio's RefTone.
Bogaudio's RefTone is a utility for organizing your tuning. RefTone provides us with various controls to output specific frequencies. In the tutorial I show how to adjust all controls to get a specific pitch for your musical projects.

Learn how to adjust the UI of Reftone.
The UI RefTone gives us a way to choose the note we want, the octave of the note and a fine tune adjustment for the frequency. All this information is displayed in the UI's display. I go into more detail on these adjustments in the video tutorial.

Learn how to connect an external VCO to RefTone.
RefTone can produce a sine wave, but it also allows you to connect an external oscillator. You can do this with the V/OCT output. This can be useful for when you would like a very specific frequency not for tuning but as part of a piece.

Learn the useful applications for RefTone.
As we incorporate acoustic instruments into our modular synthesis we will need a reference pitch that we can tune our instruments with. From time to time we will have pieces of music that will require very specific tonal center which are not A=440hz. RefTone lets us choose exactly the frequency we need for our music. I go over some other uses for this utility in the video tutorial.
VCV Rack is an open source application, which means that it is free for everyone to use. Please consider going to the developers' website and show your support for the project - http://www.vcvrack.com

I hope you enjoy this tutorial. If you have any specific questions for me feel free to leave it in the comments of this post and I will do my best to get back to you with an answer.
Cheers,
@buckydurddle

Thank @fuzeh I appreciate all the work you mods are doing :)

Great video. I've been coming to grips with VCV Rack over the last couple of weeks and getting acquainted with some of the modules has been a real adventure. I really love now that someone made a Ableton Link module I can really let loose with it and let Ableton handle the recording and timing.
Great to hear from you @iamevilradio. Cant wait to hear some of your music. I posted a little tune on my blog today. I did it over my lunch break. Lots of fun :)

Thanks, I'm currently in the process of slowing uploading my songs to D-Tube and I'll let you know when the one I'm finishing using VCV rack is finished. Since you seem interested, I'll share one of the songs I uploaded earlier this week from a more synth-centric project. Thank you.
