Exchange Transfer Report: 7/1/2018 to 7/7/2018

in exchangereport •  last year

USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Cryptocompare (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I take the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily closing price which came out to:

  • STEEM: $1.60311
  • SBD: $1.2677

Previous Report:

  • STEEM: $1.53201
  • SBD: $1.21588

Assumptions

Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting data dealing with transfers to and from exchange accounts.

Linked Accounts

hitbtc includes hitbtc-exchange and hitbtc-payout, freewallet.org includes freewallet, openledger includes openledger-dex, binance includes binance-hot and deepcrypto8, upbit includes upbit-exchange and myupbit, gopax includes gopax and gopax-deposit, and huobi includes huobi-pro and huobi-withdrawal.

Withdrawal to Deposit Ratio by User Count over Time

Commentary

  • If I had to guess, I'd say the top two accounts withdrawing funds are connected to @steemit2. @cdec84 received 350k STEEM from @steemit2 2 days ago. @eeqj used funds from @fdcb934e6cce which received 60k STEEM from @steemit3 2 months ago (and funds from @steemit2 before that). It could also be contractors being paid by Steemit, inc in STEEM.

  • The withdrawal to deposit ratio by user account is back up to 2.47 withdrawing accounts for every 1 depositing account.

  • I considered declining rewards on this post as mentioned here, but decided against it since I already created a support post for @steemcleaners.

  • There is 13.29% less Steem Power powering down this coming week compared to last week.

Hiy @lukestokes , very good statistical reporting post, i got many help from this.

Can u please tell me how to withdraw these earnings from steemit.

  ·  last year (edited)

You have to put money in if you want to take money out. :)

Many of these people were either early investors or early miners in STEEM.

Edit: this post may help some.

Alright dear @lukestokes thanku for this kind attention towards my reply !! I Hope a good support from u :)

Do you see any direct correlation between the market cap decrease and the decrease in activity and attrition rates of users?

I feel that when things are good, people get excited and are more active. When the market gets "borying", people get less excited about Steem.

I think most cryptocurrency projects rise and fall with the price of BTC, unfortunately. When the price goes up, people get excited. When the price goes down, they get bored. Too many short-term thinkers.
