Exchange Transfer Report: 4/1/2018 to 4/7/2018

in exchangereport •  2 years ago  (edited)

USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Cryptocompare (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I take the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily closing price which came out to:

  • STEEM: $1.74827
  • SBD: $1.97062

Previous Report:

  • STEEM: $1.72154
  • SBD: $1.68491

Assumptions

Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting data dealing with transfers to and from exchange accounts.

Linked Accounts

hitbtc includes hitbtc-exchange and hitbtc-payout, freewallet.org includes freewallet, openledger includes openledger-dex, binance includes binance-hot and deepcrypto8, upbit includes upbit-exchange and myupbit, and gopax includes gopax and gopax-deposit.

Commentary

  • The withdrawal to deposit ratio is at 2.72 which is only slightly up from last week's 2.38.

  • $1.67M cashing out which is up from $1.5M last week.

  • Surprisingly, there are no massive outliers this week in either deposits or withdrawls like we often see in these reports.

  • The decrease in people powering down next week is 8.56% in the green compared to the previous week (which was almost exactly the same at 8.66%).

Is there any possibilities to increase the rate of steem and SBD?
And do you think it can be a reason to withdraw much from the blockchain and reducing the market cap is the reason for this low price?

Do you mean increase the price? "Rate" sounds like you mean the inflation rate and the answer there is no, that would involve a hard fork change.

What do you mean by reducing the market cap? If the price of STEEM goes down, the market cap goes down also. As to withdrawals to exchanges and people selling bringing down the price, yeah, that's supply and demand. That said, everything seems to follow the price of BTC since that's dominating most trading pairs anyway.

I actually what to say that if we withdraw steeem or SBD then the market cap will be down so price will be down also.

Withdrawing STEEM means moving it from your account to an exchange account. The market cap is unchanged because the number of tokens is unchanged. If you were to burn STEEM by sending it to @null that could, in theory, impact that market cap, but it would take a LOT of STEEM and is very unlikely.

O. Welcome weekends.
Your Post is very interesting,I hope you can make the post more interesting of tomorrow..

Good job friends

A well detailed auditing and record, well done Luke. You're indeed setting a standard.

Thanks for keeping us informed with respect to deposit/withdrawal stats.

@eurogee

That analysis here are spot on. It is really interesting to see where Steem goes and how much of it is transacted. I must Binance is just crashing its competition right now. I Mean

@binance STEEM transfer total: 1,542,708.703

That's phenomenal

If less people are powering down then does that mean that the price of steem might to up since less will be selling it?

Good job, thanks for sharing

Outstanding effort. I thank you!
