USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Poloniex (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I take the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily average which came out to:

  • STEEM: $1.54107
  • SBD: $4.31140

Previous Report:

  • STEEM: $1.09557
  • SBD: $1.60862

Assumptions

Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting data dealing with transfers to and from exchange accounts.

Linked Accounts

hitbtc includes hitbtc-exchange and hitbtc-payout, freewallet.org includes freewallet, and openledger includes openledger-dex.

Commentary

  • Big increase in the withdrawal to deposit ratio at 4.56 to 1. Probably a big part of that has to do with the huge premium on SBD right now which I talked about here.

  • I think the $154,106 with a blank "to" is @blocktrades powering up.

  • @dan sure had a nice pay day, along with many other $100k+ payouts.

  • I wonder if we'll see an influx of money coming back in once the SBD price settles down.

  • The decline in people powering down next week is 21.08% in the green compared to the previous week.

I wonder what many of the new players who are buying STEEM over the past week have in mind for the platform. What value do they see in STEEM? And what would they like to build?

New blood is always exciting :)

Makes you wonder where the price of STEEM would have been with all this new money coming in if we didn't just happen to have a few very large whales selling out at the same time.

Yep. I've been thinking this for 70 weeks now. :)

Cheers for the data @lukestokes.

Would be worth to mention, that Poloniex stopped processing deposits & withdrawals of SBD & Steem for days .. of many user or maybe even for all, even days before they switched their "Temporarily Disabled" modus on.
Transfers of thousands of SBD are up in the air.
On Bittrex generating SBD/Steem deposit addresses were also not possible (at least for me).

For me it seemed as if the exchanges had an interest in artificially limiting
the SBD supply, pushing the price and to prevent user to take advantage of price arbitrage possibilities.

The cryptocurrency world at times is like The Wild Wild West.

I have done a number of transfers to Bittrex without any troubles. Odd.

And yeah, I don't trust Poloniex, personally. I had a bad experience with them involving 3,000 STEEM and many months of bad customer support. You bring up a good point though... the script using Poloniex pricing which is probably off right now.

Might only affect user who try to generate an address in order to be able to deposit, that is the issue I currently face on Bittrex:
Bildschirmfoto 2017-12-10 um 23.23.11.png

.. while my Poloniex deposit of 147 SBD is "up in the air". Were you able to solve your issue with them in the end?

That sucks. :( I'm sorry to hear that.

Here's the full story on Poloniex.

Something else i have noticed about Poloniex, it always freezes up during high volatility. Same can be said for a lot of exchanges, but got mega REKT this past summer on poloniex during some high volume. since then, distance.

Nice research.
Somebody is cashin in big time, good for Dan and the Top 50.

Cheers,
@yehey

Damn I am going to start playing the waiting game and rack up all my sbd and then trade it like others have done. Thank you for sharing...

your concept just amazing..thanks for sharing your information.

Your spammy comments are terrible. Please stop. You're not providing any value.

okk thank your my friend..for helping this time..

Thanks for being a human and responding well. Most of the time people leave the same type of comment over and over again, they are just bots spamming the network. :)

i realize that..all user remind this rules..i think every user be concious and avoid their spam post..

Wow! @lukestokes. This is a pretty detailed report about the SBD/STEEM exchange...I can see a lot of volume was traded probably just due to the hikes in prices. Very good.

STeem to the moon!

#AIR-CLINIC

Looks like a lot of people were cashing in on the high SBD.
I also took a bit out and moved it to some other coins, but not nearly enough to get onto your list!
