Exchange Transfer Report: 12/11/2016 to 12/17/2016

in #stats3 years ago (edited)

USD values are calculated per day via API feeds from Poloniex (for STEEM and SBD values in BTC) and Coindesk (for USD value of BTC). For the hourly breakdown graphs, I show the USD values using the weighted average for that day. For the top 50 reports in USD terms, I then took the average USD value for STEEM and SBD for the week using the daily average which came out to:

  • STEEM: $0.17820
  • SBD: $0.99734

Previous Report:

  • STEEM: $0.23306
  • SBD: $0.99677

Please see the first report for a detailed explanation of my personal assumptions related to what this data could mean (along with commentary on previous reports). What it does not show is people powering up, powering down, or if they are buying or selling on an exchange. It's just some interesting data dealing with transfers to and from exchange accounts.

  • @steemed's taking advantage of the new power down schedule with over $42k sent to exchanges last week.

  • @thejohalfiles is back with a nice purchase amount.

  • 5.51 to 1 is the second highest ratio of people moving money out to exchanges we've seen.

  • SBD peg is remaining solid. Interesting too see a lot of SBD coming off exchanges on December 15th after STEEM was sent to them on the 14th. Could that mean people are staying within the Steemit ecosystem via SBD even if they are selling liquid STEEM?

  • As mentioned last week, @jesta has a new Power Down tool you may want to keep an eye on. Check out the latest:.

message says - we are going down

Heheh... Yeah, but we've been "going down" for quite some time already, right? The question is, where's the bottom for weak hands to get out and will enough strong handed people be interested in buying in and if so, at what price?

Excellent report as always lukestokes
