It's amazing some of the stuff you can discover when you go on a tangent in youtube. I'm always stumbling across something which makes me stop and say wow.
I think that's the one thing that keeps on drawing me back to youtube, although the ads can get really annoying I keep coming back for more.
I really love coding and just letting youtube play whatever. I find it's such a good way of discovering new music which has illuded you until that moment it comes on.
This is how I stumbled across epic music quite a few years ago now.

One thing I really love about epic music is how broad the genre is when you think about the instruments used.
Epic music really does have it all, well except for an electric guitar :P
But since I started listening to epic music a few years back my taste has slowly shifted. I find I much prefer the sound of say the violin now over an electric guitar. Now don't get me wrong I still love a good electric guitar solo, but I just love the sound of the violin now.
Any epic music track with the violin used throughout it will surely have me sold, like Two Steps From Hell, Blackheart. As soon as I heard that track I just fell in love with it.

Epic music is derived from trailer music, like from movies and video game trailers.
It has evolved over the years and rightly so, there is nothing quite like epic music for invoking such powerful emotions and imagination.
I find even the best classical music can't even come close.

I really enjoy sharing this series with people. I guess epic music is not as well known as other genres so it is my mission to unite people with this music.
If you enjoy classical sounding music, orchestral pieces or the sound of a choir then your bound to find something in the series you like.

Sometimes when I'm doing cardio and I'm feeling blah I listen to this kind of music to wake me up!

Let's look at a couple of other tracks I really enjoy.

☠️ Two Steps From Hell - Dark Ages ☠️

I really love this track from Two Steps From Hell.
The way this track starts sounds amazing, it's sounds so dark and powerful. The start of the track really reminds me of Lord of the Rings when they switch the focus to what the orcs are doing.
That drum beat sounds so good mixed in with those heavy brass instruments.

I also love the feelings this track invokes.
At the start you get this real feeling like your fate has been sealed and impending doom is imminent. But then as the song progresses you feel like you will be triumphant.
Such a cool track.

☠️ Brand X Music - Last Chance ☠️

I really love this track from Brand X Music.
I think this the track sounds so good with the mix of the trumpet and those drums.
Another thing I really enjoy about this track is how it ebbs and flows throughout the track. It starts of quite heavy and then goes real quite with that gradual build up.
Then it fires back up again half way through.

Listening to this track really does give you the feeling your on an adventure. I really must add this track to a play list for when I'm riding my moto :)

☠️ Peter Gundry - The Witching Hour ☠️

Here is another fantastic track from Peter Gundry.
I have to admit I'm really loving his compositions after discovering him not long ago. I think he will be one of the greats like Hans Zimmer or Thomas Bergersen.
I really love his music because it's quite dark and evil sounding, and what could be better than that ;)

This track sounds so good the way he has used the piano throughout it. I also love the use of the choir which has a dark and erie sound to it.
