JMK Self Portrait
JMK Self Portrait - Pencil - 5 x 7 inches.
During his life on this earth, Rembrandt (1603-1669) is said to have painted and drawn at least 90-100 self-portraits.
It's not difficult to imagine that in this age of of cell phones and the world-wide web, a lot have people have posted more selfies in a few months than the Dutch painter created during his entire life.
In the spirit of Rembrandt, here's one of my selfies. I drew it years ago during a long sojourn in Spain. It was included in a scrapbook that two brothers, Jorge and Gustavo Civera, created of their artist friends in the Mediterranean harbor city of Valencia.
