"Hollow Points, Anonymous Tips" - More Old Poetry

I wrote a lot of poetry back during my undergrad days, but once I found that I enjoyed doing fiction more, I never picked it back up (despite filling a huge notebook with well-transcribed versions along with accompanying images). Since Steemit seems to have a thriving (and growing) poetry community, I thought I'd add a little fuel to that particular fire. I hope you enjoy :)

I’d spit venom
Using ones and zeros
As my medium
But I stay these fingers
As my mouth has already
Sung in parabolas
Of free speech with barbed boundaries
And thoughts not taught
But learned by love gone lame.
Lamentations of a mind not quite the same...
I misspoke too much,
Let’s play another game
Like Charlie conversing with walls
Hoping Buddha’s wisdom falls
In chunks of brick and mortar
He walks away no wiser
To the sound of one hand clapping
Lucy laughing, still holds the ball
