I keep seeing this challenge in my feed, and I've debated with myself a lot over participating. My childhood is not something I talk about very often, because there are very few good memories. #wheniwasakid, life was scary af, and I was forced to walk on eggshells or be subjected to violence no child should ever witness, no less be the victim of.
None the less, it may help me work through some of the issues I still have that originate from my childhood, so I will try to put together something for this, just be warned: It won't be as "fun" as a lot of these posts...
No worries my friend. I hope find you find strength in where you are now. I understand that for many childhood is not perfect and in some cases it is something most would prefer not to speak about. My grandmother for example has a fear of water since she was 6-7 because she stepped on a dead body in the ocean and it floated up on her. Woman is nearly 85 years old and won't go near water she can't see the bottom of. These are things our minds have to to work through, my friend. Sometimes it can be tremendously difficult and I think many of us understand that (most people I know did not have a picture perfect childhood).
You are not alone. May you find comfort in remembering the good times and the bad. Just know you are where you are now - that's what matters 😉

We really do, @olyup! I was surprised to see so many in the first few days. It's been a lot of fun going through the tag and compiling the feature (minus the error troubleshooting that added a few hours..lol).

reworked the layout because it was not able to post to steemit for some reason. Kept getting this crazy repetitive error and would not post:
