Strawberry Cream Waffles - Yes... They taste as good as they look !

They say a picture paints a thousand words, and in this case they are not wrong. There is not much I could say about this treat that isn't painfully, delightfully, deliciously obvious from the pictures.

Strawberry Cream Waffles

Simply toast a fresh waffle until it is golden brown, then slice it through the middle so that it can be folded in half. Fill the folded waffle with a generous amount of fresh cream and delicious strawberries. Lightly dust it with icing sugar and serve with maple syrup and some home-made vanilla ice-cream.

How Did They Taste?

Exactly how you would expect. The sweet, crispness and acidity of the strawberries balanced out by the whipped cream. The doughy texture of the waffle soaked up the maple syrup and provided a base for the cream and fruit. Its pretty much the perfect combination, though for my liking I would add a bacon rash or two. I washed down this sweet treat with an equally amazing Iced Espresso Latte.
