Cocktails with a View to Die For!

It was a lazy afternoon in Bangkok, so a few friends and myself decided to head to the bar & pool with the Million dollar view.

The Sofitel SO Hotel inhabits one of the most prime pieces of land in all of Thailand. It sits at the junction of 2 major roads with an outlook of the downtown oasis of Lumpini Park and the city skyline in the background. After 10 years of visiting roof-top cocktail bars this is without a doubt the most amazing Bangkok view I have ever seen.

Situated on the 10th floor of the luxury hotel, the "Waterclub Bar" feature an infinity edge pool facing onto the largest downtown green area in the city. This give the bar a unique perspective unlike anywhere elese. Usually, no matter where you are in Bangkok, buildings are all around you, on top of you and beside you. At the "Waterclub Bar", the park gives a buffer zone and gives you an experience to view the skyline from a distance. Very few properties in the city offer this view.

You don't need to be staying in the hotel to visit, and often on weekends they have poolside dance parties. We visited on a lazy Friday and enjoyed a simple cocktail to some blissed out beats. I enjoyed a fresh watermelon cocktail mixed with vodka, vermouth and ginger.

As the sun went down over Thailand, the lights came up in the city, and we got a new and completely mesmerizing view. If you get the chance to visit Bangkok, I can highly recommend a sundowner here, its a great way to start any evening in this amazing city.
