Manaia : The Privately Owned Island of Siya and the Philanthropic Phoenix Family

Siya is a beautiful island in the Southern most region of Primeria, owned privately by one of the wealthiest families in Manaia - the Phoenix's.

The Phoenix name is well renowned throughout the world, being the Keepers of many wealthy businesses and establishments, and even of a few cities. Wielding a great deal of influence across a diverse range of industries, the Phoenix family are often considered King-makers, having the political power to elevate or dethrone monarchs in many regions throughout the seven continents.

The Phoenix's are largely suspected to have earned their fortunes through capitalising on the historic Great Siphoning, but in current times they are known to have investments in most industries, and have almost a complete monopoly on banking and weapons manufacturing. They are also responsible for the recently founded Switchery, a high-speed delivery service exclusive to the upper classes in Manaia.

Aside from their business practices, the Phoenix family are also involved in a number of charitable organisations, mostly in the continent of Euchao. They are also reported to have made sizeable contributions to the development of the theatre industry, allowing the people of Euchao and Agamar to be able to indulge in daily entertainment free of charge.

The island of Siya is enclosed behind a large wall that extends for almost the entirety of the 33 mile circumference of the coastline. A private army of an unknown quantity man the battlements and occupy watch houses across the island.

Many times a year, parties are known to be hosted at the island, and the wealthiest and most powerful from all over the world are reported to frequent the events. Even Magna Luxlow II of Euchao and Queen Sadomarrah of Forks have been said to visit the mysterious get-togethers on Siya.

Soldiers who have been overheard speaking in Agamarian, Shipevan and Peresian taverns and brothels, have spoken to the peculiar nature of the parties, which often involve nude bodies and masked faces, as well as an array of sexual activities and theatrics. Some speak of much darker going ons including animal and even human sacrifice.

The rumours, however, remain unsubstantiated.

Are these posts your background for Sons of Gods? You probably told me this, but my brain is a bit scattered lately

Yeah this is the world that Sons of Gods will be set in. But, I think it will be quite a long time before I begin that series. I have a lot more of this world to introduce, and the map only has about a third of the total locations that will be on it when it is complete.

I also cannot write Sons of Gods until I create a proto-language for the world and then derive some original languages for each culture. But in the mean time I will be writing a few novellas in some of the most interesting locations throughout Manaia, starting with the one I am working on now that I told you about, set in Anakai.

Why's the brain so scattered anyway? Everything alright?

I just haven't been this busy in ages, all good things. Part of my busy is a new fitness routine and my ass is SORE, haha, feels good though ;)

Though I stopped now, I worked out for six weeks or so a little while back and I found that the pain only effected me for the first couple weeks. After that my body got used to it, to the point that I couldn't even feel when I had overdone my workout. So, perhaps if you stick with it the pain will fuck off and all that will be left are the benefits.
