Manaia : The Mysterious Ruins of Zeerah
Zeerah is home to the ruins of an ancient civilisation, and is located in Shevarah.
The frozen lake is surrounded by temples, some with pillars of great height. Beneath the lake is a series of caverns and tunnels, many of which contain mysterious pictographic carvings that appear to tell some type of story.
Zeerah is believed based on many interpretation of the Libra to be the location where The Knower and his family remained to survive the 777 day drought discussed in the scriptures. It is also postulated by some that the weeping caverns beneath the frozen lake were once home to the Fountain of Sins and Sorrows, mentioned in both the Sobanite and Kuzu Holy books.
While it believed that Zeerah once was inhabited by a great and thriving civilisation, it is now occupied by a minor population of gnophian monks and Shevaran exiles.
Excluding the dark depths of Karadam, Zeerah is undoubtedly the coldest location in Manaia, and is reportedly growing colder each new year at a rate far exceeding that of the surrounding areas. It is not understood why.
Just beyond the Zeeranize mountain range lies the Devil's Pit - a seemingly bottomless chasm stretching five miles in length, and believed by many Sobanites to be where the dragon Slaekin fell from Heaven to Manaia.
