Manaia : The City of Agamar

Though Agamar is situated in the continent of Aneyes, it is common knowledge that King Lyskis of Agamar is subservient to Magna Fox of Euchao.

King Lyskis' affiliation with the ruler of Euchao has brought much wealth and prosperity to the upper class in the region, at the arguably greater expense of being branded a puppet by the majority of his own people.

More than two thirds of Agamar's population of 6 million are atheists, many of whom loathe the relationship between King Lyskis and the Magna of Euchao for his religious zealotry.

Much like the larger cities to the North in Euchao, Agamar has a great disparity between rich and poor, with a small population of exceedingly wealthy Keepers, and an overwhelming population of lowlings.

The city is home to 40 theatre houses, including the Magnicano, which is larger than any theatre in Euchao and can entertain some 70,000 spectators at any given time. The Magnicano is an ancient structure, rumoured to have been constructed by the reportedly diminished Secret Order of Steel and Stone. Expertly designed acoustics provide clear sound from the stage at all locations throughout the audience stands - a marvel in technology that has yet to be replicated in modernity.

The King of Agamar grows old without an heir, and is mocked by the people as lacking the necessary body parts to conceive a child. Under advisement from the Magna of Euchao, ridiculers are now hanged in public - a response that has served only to sow further seeds of dissent.

In spite of common distaste for Lyskis, the King of Agamar has support from a number of wealthy families who have profited greatly from his relationship with the Magna, and from his younger brother Bylkis who sits at the head of the Agaman army, who will likely succeed as King if no heir is begotten by the King before his death.

Agamar is also home to some of Manaia's greatest schools in philosophy, science and mathematics, with many of the historical pioneers in such fields being born in the region.
