Manaia : Beerah and the Dreadwood Forest

Beerah is military outpost of the nearby capital Shipeva situated within the Dreadwood Forest. The outpost was founded in response to the continuing raids on Euchaon supply carriages by bandits, most of whom are thought to have journeyed from the Wetlands.

The Magna of Euchao stationed some five thousand soldiers at Beerah in order to apprehend and detain thieves attempting to abscond with their loot through the Dreadwood forest. While the decision resulted in a minor decrease in supply raids, and led to the capture of several culprits, the forest is still used as the primary means of escape for the looters. Some even believe that the bandits are living within the Dreadwood forest in a secret location, hidden from plain sight to all but those who know what they're looking for.

As well as a military base, Beerah serves as a temporary prison for thieves who, if apprehended, are tortured for information before being escorted to Shipeva to be exiled to the island of Zarakash. The bandits are known for hijacking supply carriages on land and vessels on sea, and are believed to be part of a larger organisation operating all throughout Manaia.

A forthcoming prisoner named the collective brotherhood of bandits as The Katerani and claimed subservience to a leader named the Prince of Pirates and Plunderers, who is reportedly known also by the shorter moniker Three-Piece.

All other prisoners have denied the existence of the Katerani and Pirate Prince, bringing the veracity of the talkative thief's tale into question.

You named a place of torture beerah? lol!

If you want the honest truth I used the Hebrew lexicon to come up with all these names that had deep meaning to them, but then I forgot what that meaning was for practically every city lol.

I am going to create a language for this world so once I do, I will change the name of all the locations and redo the map and edit the earlier posts to amend the names I no longer like or understand.
