Manaia : The Fallen City of the Beasts
Merkh is a reportedly abandoned city in Manaia, falling upon the borders of the continents Karadam and Kafa. The human population of Merkh is unknown, but believed to be zero.
Follow any wolf in the South long enough, and eventually they will lead you to Merkh - a once glorious city, built into and beneath a vast mountain range. The city now, however, is believed to have been abandon for almost a thousand years. It is rumoured that modern Merkh has become the lair of the wolves, housing a pack numbering in the tens of thousands within its ruins.
Others argue that the wolves are there to hide and protect a thriving population, living in caverns and tunnels beneath the mountains, and some even go as far to claim that the wolves in the south are in fact the ancient population of Merkh, who were cursed by the wise warlock of old and turned into beasts - a punishment said to have been in response to the ruler of Merkh's betrayal of the warlock king to the Ancient Fenian Emperor.
None outside of Merkh know the truth, however, and none are brave enough to go seeking for answers after even the Magna's sanctioned excavations proved unsuccessful, and costly to the lives of his agents.
All that is known for sure about Merkh, is that the wolves now call it home, and that they defend it in great numbers.
