@gardenlady Thank you for the links
they are probably that indeed. I've just checked and found the adults, will have to look for it in the green house.
I just killed them but they were actually just trying to sort of swim on the spit :D
good luck!
Thank you for posting @englishtchrivy.
Sounds like you have been given great clues as to who the culprits are.
Save the Strawberry plants at all costs......all hands on deck. ^_^ ......the leaves are edible as well....think smoothies or your compost additive mixture.
Wishing you and yours all the best. Cheers.
LOL.
Spittlebugs (Dutch: schuimcicades)? The larvae make a foam to protect themselves from predators. Maybe other insects do as well, I'm not sure.
The ants can't get at it 8-).
@ocrdu oh I just checked thank you
you probably are right I kukeld "schuimcicades" and you probably are right

@ocrdu & @gardenlady have already tipped me what they are :D
Is some kind of cocoon maybe.
Excellent post! I like your work My friend
I have these occasionally in my garden too. I always kill the little blighters and not through my usual technique of burning the plant to the ground but by gently teasing out the grubby thing from the spit and squishing it.
In my heart of hearts though I know they yearn for the fire.
:o) Hehe! Kidding. I m glad @gardenlady and others have identified the little thugs!
