Well I said there would be something special for today and here it is. Since today is the NASCAR championship and champions end up in the Hall of Fame I'm going with the first ever NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees. So not 1 but 5 items from the bar today. I have the complete set of 1:24 scale diecast cars of the 2010 Inductees.

First a quick bit of info:

NASCAR committed to building a Hall of Fame and on March 6, 2006, the city of Charlotte was selected as the location. Ground was broken for the $160 million facility on January 26, 2007, and it officially opened on May 11, 2010.

First up we have the Intimidator himself Dale Earnhardt. He had 7 championships, 76 wins, 281 top-5s, 428 top-10s, 22 poles, and 1 Daytona 500 during his racing career as well as a number of other achievements. He was also owner and founder of Dale Earnhardt, Inc (DEI) which is still one of the major teams today.

Next we have the only other 7 time champ The King himself Richard Petty. His 7 Cup championships, 200 race wins, 555 top-5s, 712 top 10s, 123 poles, and 7 Daytona 500 wins made him a shoe in for the first class.

Up next with 50 wins, 121 top-5s, 148 top-10s, 46 poles, and 1 Daytona 500 win as a driver we have Junior Johnson. He is also a 6 time Cup owners champion.

Those three were the only driver/owners inducted the first year.

For the next one we have the co-founder of NASCAR Bill France SR. He became the CEO and promoted NASCAR creating the "modern era" of racing.

Finally we have the man that brought NASCAR from a regional southern sport to the mainstream televised sport we see today Bill France Jr. He succeeded his father as CEO and promoter of NASCAR.
