Something from my bar whenever I feel like it episode IX

in #blog8 years ago

Something not drinking related for today.

This one is a Lionel Trains collectible lamp from 2002. It has a master off/on switch on the back but the light is activated from the button on the front.

Along with the light the train also moves and blows it whistle. Nice representation of steam power.

The plaque reads as follows:

THE LIONEL HUDSON 700E
In 1937, the No. 700E New York Central Hudson steam locomotive arrived on the Lionel scene. This icon of the Lionel Lines represents the company's emergence as a world premier scale-model builder. Priced at more than $75 each, the scale Hudson complete with blueprint-accurate details was the finest electric train ever built at that time. Later that same year, Lionel issued its first public stock certificates, which bore an engraving of the Hudson being admired by a young boy.
