#1 Hiking around LA - Chantry Flats

@mikesthoughts takes us to the Chantry Flats in California, USA. From LA you'll be driving up into the hills, which makes for stunning views. From the starting point of the hike it is a 3 miles round trip to the Hermit Falls. A beautiful place away from the hustle and bustle of LA-life. Here @mikesthoughts meets a young couple and as many a traveler will be able to agree upon, the people you meet often times make or break your trip. After having some amazing, intense conversations about a range of philosophical topics it is time to head back and enjoy a sunset view.

#2 Four day adventure trek to Machu Picchu!

@terrybogan takes us through the Peruvian Andes up to Machu Picchu. As getting to a place is half the fun, they decide to look for a trek. The standard Inca trail where you hike days on end, didn't seem action packed enough, instead the decision is made to go on a four day trek which holds a range of other activities like mountain biking, rafting and ziplining. After departing from Cusco the group drive up into the mountains - tops covered in snow! From there on, the downhill mountainbike adventure can start, for 50 kilometers! After reaching the bottom of the valley, the rafting can begin! To end the first day they hike for an hour and a half to end up at a beautiful viewpoint. On day two, there is a 15km hike to do, but at the end of it there are some hot springs and cold beverages waiting. The third day takes them ziplining above the treetops, after which it is time to start walking for a few more hours to the base of Machu Picchu. On their final day they go explore the ruins of this ancient city.

#3 My Epic Simpson Desert (Munga Thirri) Crossing

@overlandjournals takes us along on his Simpson Desert Crossing in Australia. This is the first installment of an 8 chapter story. The Simpson Desert is the fourth largest desert in Australia, covering approximately 176.000 square kms! The first destination is Coober Pedy. Which to @overlandjournals felt like the frontier town before getting out there in the outback. A lot of homes here are built underground, to escape the heat in summer months. As the surrounding area offers a unique desolate feeling landscape, it is often used in movies. Even up until today the official population number of Coober Pedy is incorrect as it is a place people end up looking for a fresh start, making the real population about twice the size of the official one.

You're welcome! Looks like one hell of and adventure, I still haven't made it to Australia yet, but everyone who has been is telling me I should!

It's a vast country with varied landscapes. If you enjoy camping and the great outdoors, then a trip into the outback is a must.
Do visit us downunder. Give me a shout if you come over to South Australia.

PS - not sure if you saw my post on how vast Aus is. Here is the link
    https://steemit.com/travel/@overlandjournals/vastness-of-australia-for-overlanding

Yeah, I would love to go to Australia for a few months, so I can take my time exploring around! I heard it's pretty easy to work whilst traveling as well, so I might just have to start taking a look into it, haha!

If I make it there, I'll definitely hit you up, pity flights from Belgium are so expensive though!

I think the vastness is actually one of the things that really attracts me to Australia, loads of adventure still to be had, if that makes sense, haha?

Checking the vlog now, don't think I saw it yet! Love how you give a good realistic outlook on what to expect, just makes me even more excited about it, haha!

I too LOVE the vastness. It also gives us a sense of how insignificant we humans are in relation to the grander scheme of nature. All the more reason to live life whilst we can.
Anytime you decide to come downunder, if there is any help I can be, let me know :)
