Machu Picchu, Peru - Part 1

in #travel6 years ago

Machu Picchu, at an elevation of 2,430 metres (7,970 feet), just makes your mind boggle. Seeing this place first hand, really puts into perspective, just how little we know about how, and why, this testament to ingenuity was built, and how important it is, that mainstream archaeologists and historians, should consider the inclusion of plant medicines within their diciplines, to even come close to understanding how ridiculous their current theories are. (Author's opinion)

To put into perspective, the sheer magnitude of this construction, Part 1 will focus on the surrounding terrain, within which this construction appears. To do this, I will allow the following images to speak for themselves.

Now that you have a bigger picture of where Machu Picchu is situated, Part 2 will focus on the buildings and other anomalous constructions within this megalopolis, and as such, will have an accompanying narrative. Special attention will also be given to the two very distinctively different construction styles to be found there.

So, if you have enjoyed today's selection, be sure to check out my previous Peruvian travel posts, and come back next Monday to see Machu Picchu Part 2.

Peace.
