Lumpini Park in Bangkok , Thailand - Photography - 101
I was reading @dmcamera article on shoot what is in your own neighborhood and what a great idea , i am sure many people would love to see it through the eye of the camera not everyone can travel for all sorts of reasons. So it was just coincidental that i had stumbled on this article this morning and i had been for my walk yesterday afternoon at this beautiful park in our neighborhood. Let me take you for the tour.
Lumpini Park is a 142 acre park in the inner city of Bangkok and is less then 1km walk from my neighborhood. The park offers a lot of space to the public if you love greenery lots of beautiful nature to be seen here.
Lumpini Park is my favorite park to walk around enjoying that fresh air and nature and even though i have been there a few times i have still not covered the whole of the park well 142 acre's is a lot to walk and discover. The man made lake is huge and stretches all around the park with little bridges built to enable you to be crossing the lake at many points around the park.
If your feeling energetic and you have all day hiring a paddle duck boat is a great way of getting around the park looking in from the lake.
It can be a awesome place for people watching if your into that or just to sit down relax weather it's reading a book , making a bit of pet love talk or simply having a nap.
All hours of the day no matter when ever i have been there you'll always find people jogging , walking , playing sports , biking , practicing Tai Chi or just relaxing but what has become very popular in this park now is Aerobic classes you can join in for free as long as you like all ages welcome , quite amazing have never seen so many people doing aerobics in one place.
The atmosphere of this park honestly makes you feel energized just by looking around and absorbing. Watching nature up so close makes you not want to leave this park.
I had hear in the early days this park was full of friendly Komodo Dragons roaming all around the park today they are still some around but don't make there presence to often well it must have been my lucky day i spotted one swimming up the middle of the lake.... so yeah i had to follow it not knowing what it was going to do i kept my distance a bit not to scare it of then it decided to come on land well you can image how excited i got i had wished i had my better camera but never mind i got to see the Komodo Dragon face on this really made my day.
The best thing of the day was seeing a Komodo Dragon but the next best thing is seeing the gorgeous sunset over the lake after a awesome day in the park.
Well after achieving all my goals and more that i didn't expect it was time to head home but i will return to hunt down another Komodo Dragon still on a high after seeing that yesterday :))))

It is very true what you say. There is so much beauty in every one of our's local neighbourhood. All we have to do is look hard enough with an appreciative mind.

I'd love to be there, it looks like and a really amazing place. But since I can't be there, I'm saying thank you, for bringing this place closer! I love the clean park with so much green and flowers. The open space aerobic classes must be really awesome :)

142 acres? Holly Heaven! These people really know how to keep people healthy, without pollution :)
Yep they certainly do and they have a few parks just in Bangkok which i am yet to visit and looking forward it it :)
My 100% Upvote for a great job showing us your neighborhood park! You documented it so well, it was like being there. I love the contrast between your park and mine. I saw only a handful of people on my walk, your park in Bangkok was filled with people, yet there were still quiet places to be found!
Ohhhh....wow thank you for your kind words i really enjoy the times i go there it is a fascinating park every time i go there something new is going on and like you said you can always find a quiet spot under a tree and have a nap :))
