STEEMIT CULINARY CHALLENGE #23 - WINNERS & NEW THEME Announcement - All Welcome for SBD PRIZES!

Many thanks to last week's guest judge @surfermarly and her inspiring theme "Mediterranean Night".  The entries were all so beautifully prepared and looked super tasty, and I'll tell you I didn't envy @surfermarly's task of choosing winners!  We both agreed we'd award first place to each one if we could, but alas that's not possible.  Congratulations to all the winners - we very much enjoyed looking at and drooling over your recipes!  Those of you who didn't win this time - I whole-heartedly invite you to join in for the next theme and all the themes after that!  No doubt you have fun with the  challenge, prize or not, and we love to see your creations, so keep them coming please!

I'm posting this a little early this week as I have other commitments tomorrow, so hopefully an extra day = more participants...? :-)  The deadline remains Wed 12:00 Noon UTC as usual.

I'd also like to share my sincere THANKS to all the  sponsors, the Steemians who submitted entries, and to everyone who upvoted and supported the entries.  I'm well aware there would be no  challenge without you all!!!

For those of you who have never entered this challenge  before - it's very easy, just see below for this week's theme and criteria which entries are judged by.  Every week we have a different guest judge and a different theme, so if you fancy some excitement in your kitchen (oi oi!) then look no  further!  You don't have to be a master chef - all we ask is you try to be creative with your recipes and take beautiful photos of the finished  dish, as unfortunately we can't taste the entries so you must help us do this with our imaginations!  Original recipes are encouraged, but you may use someone else's recipe as long as you credit the original source.

This week's guest judge for the Steemit Culinary Challenge #23 is @boxcarblue, an English teacher working in Japan, and whose blog I have followed and enjoyed ever since joining the Steemit community last summer.  His regular posts invite us to 'explore everyday life in Japan', which I feel is a fantastic way to get to know the Japanese culture.  I learn new things about this country all the time thanks to his blog!  So, no surprises @boxcarblue has chosen a Japanese inspired theme for us this week, which I hope will not only excite your culinary creativity, but also give you a glimpse into an important aspect of Japanese culture.

@boxcarblue has also taken the time to write a complimentary post to this theme for his blog, which is wonderfully informative and will no doubt motivate you to create something delicious and impressive for him!  You can read it HERE.  I'm sure he'd appreciate a re-steem too, as believe me he really put a lot of thought into designing this theme for us:

Those of you who didn't get chance to join last week's round I hope will be pleased to see it's another 'fingerfood' theme, though sufficiently different to keep things challenging.  There's endless scope for creating some amazing otsumami, and if you need a few ideas to help then just click on all the blued words.  The choice of ingredients and cooking methods is entirely up to you, as @boxcarblue isn't requiring the otsumami to be related to Japanese cuisine, unless this is what you choose!  Most of all, have fun and present to us your finest creations!

Congratulations to all winners : )
This week i read very carfull the new teme sadly i have no idea of Otsumami dish so probably will skip this time . Good lucky to everyone !

I have also no idea!

@patelincho - "otsumami" simply means a light snack to eat when you're drinking alcohol. It is finger food again and you can use any ingredients you want. It can be snacks like homemade bread, crackers, meat, fish, or something sweet... As long as it's fingerfood your recipe can be whatever type of snack you want. Otsumami is just the Japanese word, but your recipe doesn't have to be Japanese. Does that make sense?

Hmmm so some tipical bulgarian snacks will work . Thank you very much this make things very clear !

Yes! Absolutely! I look forward to seeing what kind of snacks you enjoy in Bulgaria!

I have used a translator so hope this is correct!

Congrats to all who participated in this wonderful challenge!! As always, It was great! Also big thanks to the sponsors, jury, and @woman-onthe-wing for making this challenge happen!
