Manaia : Chao - The Agricultural and Industrial Capital of the World
Chao is known to be the ancient capital of not only Euchao but of Manaia in its entirety. During the Fenian Empire ( 80 B.O- 492 S.O). Emperor Mammon ruled over the seven continents from his Palace in Chao.
Mammon was dethroned at the end of the fifth century, very soon after Jio Saturo of the Kingdom of Alochia joined the rebellion with his army and laid siege to the capital. After the city fell, Mammon fled the city never to be found, but his viceroy was hanged until death by his own people, and Chao was reduced to rubble over a period of a fortnight using heavy siege weaponry. For the two week period, over a million Manaians danced and celebrated while watching the Emperor's city be destroyed.
Modern day Chao is the place of residence to a population of less than 70,000 people. The city is home to the largest live stock farms in all of Manaia, as well as weapon smith factories which specialise in both small and large weapons, armour and even the construction of battle ships.
The agricultural and industrial city of Chao has a relatively busy port, where ships arrive and depart often to transport food, weapons and armour to locations all throughout Manaia. Being a strictly commercial location with only business properties within the city borders, Chao is without a governor and its inner workings are handled personally by the Magna of Euchao who resides in Shipeva to the North.
Most businesses in Chao are obligated to pay a standard 30% tax to the church, and failure to do so often results in the repossessing of one's business and property.
In recent months, the Magna has ordered a military force of 5000 men to occupy the city of Chao in response to vandals, believed to be youths, setting cattle, pigs and chickens free from their pens in the thousands. In spite of the soldiers presence, similar occurrences have continued with no perpetrators being caught thus far.
