There are an increasing number of writing contests here on Steemit and some have excellent prizes that are well worth going after. The problem I was having was finding them in the sea of new posts in the contest tag. You might have been having the same problem.

Now you can simply drop by my blog each day to see what writing contests are going on across Steemit. I really do hope you find it useful.

This is an ongoing post that will be updated each day, with new contests added and expired contests removed. If you’re interested in writing contests, this daily post can be your one-stop-shop to keep updated on what’s new, and what needs to be submitted today.

The Fact to Fiction Writing Contest
Deadline: March 20, 2018 Note: The contest will actually open for submissions on March 14, so look for that post to make your story submission.
Description: Write a fiction story based on the following prompt: “The nearest star to us is 4.25 lightyears away, that's why wishes take at least 9 years to come true.”
Prize: The winner will receive 10 STEEM plus the payout of this post. Two runners-up will each receive 5 STEEM.

Deadline: March 19, 2018
Description: Write a story that involves a major issue you or your protagonist has overcome. If you have enough time, read or watch The Pursuit of Happyness. Reading a summary of the book or watching the trailer of the movie will also work.
Prize: One Winner Will Get the Whole Reward which is: half of the SBD from the "For the Seek of Happiness" initiative posts, all of the generated SteemPower from that post, and half of @steemfluencer's SteemPower delegated for two weeks.

How Does Dwelling Make You Feel Contest
Deadline: This is an ongoing story and the author had pledged to have this same contest with every chapter of “Dwelling” released.
Description: Read the first chapter of the story “Dwelling” and leave a comment that tells how the story made you feel. Tell your thoughts on the writing, the artwork, the characters, the story, the sense of place. What is it like to be immersed in the Dwelling world?
