One photo every day: Joutjärvi in ice (174/365)
This photo is actually a composite of four images with a differing focus point, stitched by hand in Gimp to make it look like everything is in focus. I shot it this morning after taking the boys to school.

I don't know what else to say about it. ;)
Anyway, I think the boys will be positively surprised, come Christmas. I heard from the Santa's elves there's a relatively big gift packet coming their way, and that Santa's definitely going bankrupt this year.

This picture is nice even considering you mixed different focuses together to look like one. Nice one, you know I like the icy images. They make me wish we had in my country...
It looks so chilly indeed! When I have time, I would love to put my fingers to good use with some types of easier photo editor! I've tried Gimp but it is too complicated!
I'm not adequate enough to say if I like Gimp or not, but it for sure isn't a darkroom software. ;)

Very cold and grey mood from your photo! Funny, this is the cold weather Thai people would like to experience. Because we always have to put up with hot weather, so rich Thais would be off the Japan or Korea to experience snow and do some skiing.
Very good technique in focusing the whole, would like to see a video of this!
How the world is changing yet the winter cold will persist on its cycle. They say 'little ice age is here!' I dread the cold and snow in your photo as a norm for many countries in the near future.
I hope your cough is now gone so that Father Christmas can spread his gifts around!

I can see how it (snow & ice) can be considered exotic to some. :) Sort of puts into perspective even the fact that there have always been quite many Thai immigrants in our town, although I do doubt they all came here for the nice weather.

I'm still coughing though... it's been 3 weeks now, but it has eased up so I am not coughing all the time anymore. Tonight, Leo seems to be suffering from migraine or something, he even threw up before going to bed. I'm so hoping we are going to be well in time for Christmas.
Let's see if the weekend will be good or not. I promised I'd take Miro skating this weekend so I hope he isn't going to catch any stomach illnesses from Leo.
Oh dear! This sounds a bit of concern, children not feeling well during this season! I think you ought to teach them some Kung fu' s breathing exercises or some yoga exercises to build up the chi or life force from inside! Your cough is dependent upon your sleep!!
Please sleep extra hours! Here, we use lemon juice in warm water and some honey to drink in the morning! Suppose to be very good for healing sore throat and coughing.

Hi! I'm doing fine, but pretty dumbfounded now as Miro just won me in Chess for the first time. I didn't really think he'd do that for a while.
So how are you? Haven't seen you for some time.
Congratulate Miro on my behalf on winning you at Chess!
Has he been practicing a lot?
That's what puzzles me, Miro hasn't exactly played very often, but every now and then he wants to challenge Leo.
But Leo doesn't seem to want to play, and always gets very defensive when we tell him to either play or straight out say that he dislikes playing it. It's like he can't make his mind about it.
Anyway, Miro hasn't played against me for a while, so when their game got stuck two days ago, I offered to play in Leo's place. That game I won, but the game we started Yesterday because I wanted photos of it, continued today, and for some odd reason, Miro went and finished me. (Well I made a small mistake by running my king into his knight, and got killed.) But anyway, he was killing my pieces left and right, and I eventually noticed I didn't have much of a choice to survive.
This time he didn't even have the two officer handicap he normally had, it was a level game.
Awesome! Beating you in an even game is not easy for a seven-year-old beginner like Miro.
Was studying, trading and fixing some annoying issues with real estate. Now have a bit more time and can take a breather.
Steem is doing pretty good and what's with sbd price!? Seems I've missed something.
Heh it's just natural for Miro to overcome your level after some time. You should buy a giant pot of ice cream to soothe the bitterness of defeat, you will probably start losing pretty often in the future haha
im sorry to tell you this..today i didn't get that "wow" feeling i get when i saw your previous photos..hope you wouldn't get angry with me for being honest today..i don't know whether you ll get that chilly feeling when you see these photos..but better to give a shot at it sir..
