There are an increasing number of writing contests here on Steemit and some have excellent prizes that are well worth going after. The problem I was having was finding them in the sea of new posts in the contest tag. You might have been having the same problem.

Now you can simply drop by my blog each day to see what writing contests are going on across Steemit. I really do hope you find it useful.

This is an ongoing post that will be updated each day, with new contests added and expired contests removed. If you’re interested in writing contests, this daily post can be your one-stop-shop to keep updated on what’s new, and what needs to be submitted today.

Shary's Writing Prompt Contest #2
Deadline: 07:00 GMT/UTC March 3, 2018
Description: The contest is quite simple. You have to write a story, essay or anything that you can think of ranging between 500 to 1000 words. It must have the prompt “So that was what she was doing early morning every day” used anywhere within the written piece and it must also follow the theme “Romance/ Drama (you can intermix both or choose one)”.
Prize: The winner of the contest will win a prize of 5 SBDs and honorable mentions will receive 1SBD each. If this post does well and makes over $30, more SBD will be added to the prize pool.

We-ALL-Write ~ New Contest (test)
Deadline: 05:00 GMT/UTC March 3, 2018
Description: Each person adds a new section to an ongoing story. Additions are put in the comments of the contest post and should move the story along in some way.
Prize: SBD payout of the contest/game post will be split between all the participants.

Writing competition: Write about scammers, a scam you saw, or a scam you suffered
Deadline: 23:00 GMT/UTC March 3, 2018
Description: Write a factual account of a scam or scammers. It can be a story about yourself a friend, a general scam you know about, scams in your country. It just needs to be factual.
Prize: 25 Steem

@markrmorrisjr has a contest that requires little effort on your part, but should be great fun for everyone involved. Each day, he'll put up a post with some writing prompts, between 5 and 10, some written, some images. If you'd like to see him write one of them, vote for it in the comments. The prompt with the most votes will be his story inspiration! He will write a story, from scratch, of at least 500 words, and base it on the prompt! Then he’ll choose one lucky person who chose the winning prompt as the winner of the contest and they get 25% of the SBD from the story post. He’s had stories pay out over 700 SBD in the past! He plans on doing this every day until he reaches 5,000 followers, so it could go on for several weeks. Here’s the “contest”
