The Reports from the Witnesses 2018-02-25
The Reports from the Witnesses aims to provide the community with a summary of what all the witnesses have been up to. Every week, I collect all of the reports from the individual witnesses and assemble them into a single aggregated report. New witness announcements and witness retirement announcements are included in the report as well.
Witnesses can continue posting their posts to the witness-category and/or witness-update tags, and I will assemble everything I find there. If I miss any reports, just let me know and I will correct it. If you want to direct message me a report via chat, that is fine too.

Some Notes:
- Many witnesses do not report every week, and prefer to only report when they have updates.
- I recommend that you include communication as one of your criteria for evaluating witnesses, but keep in mind - it is not the only criteria. There are some witnesses that prefer to work "behind the scenes", and do not do much as far as reports.
- For witnesses that are not currently posting any reports, I would encourage you to provide the community with at least some insight into what you are currently working on :)

Thanks for this. I'd never even thought about what witnesses do other than being the transaction validators for the network. Fascinating.
Do you also miss the times when you could vote a certain number of times while at 100% and your VP did not change?
I do not understand the question. Every time you vote, it uses a portion of your voting power.
I mean do you miss when you could vote 5 or 10 times before it started declining.
Did you forget how it was 9 months ago?
It never worked that way.
While I remember it differently, I got another reply reinforcing your claim here.
Regardless of how it was, why is not it the way I thought it was?
Why not let people shoot their load while they can, instead of force them into automated services and automated accounts?

Still new to Steemit, maybe someone to explain a bit more about who witnesses are, what they do and how people become a witness?
There is some info on what witnesses do in the FAQ. If anyone is looking to become a witness, there are a lot of useful resources pinned to the #witness channel of steemit chat.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for providing us with this weekly report on Steem witnesses. It's important we know what our witnesses are up to, since we entrust the security of the steem blockchain in their hands through our votes. I have taken it upon myself to educate Steemians, especially newbies, the much I know, about Steem witnesses through the #knowyourwitness

Hello @timcliff, happy night .. what project do you have as a witness? I am new to steemit I only have 60 days here .. I would like to know about your project in steemit ..
I work on a lot of miscellaneous things. Currently one of my main focuses is as the moderator of the help channel in steemit chat. I also submit pull requests to a lot of the GitHub repositories (including condenser - which is the code that runs steemit.com). I am also working on exchange outreach - to try and get STEEM listed on more exchanges.
wow .. you have several functions it must be complicated to be aware of all that at the same time .. being a witness is not an easy job ..
This is valuable information. I'm not really into voting witnesses so much yet but I'll look more into it to understand it
I like that so many of these witnesses are being as transparent in their work and intentions. I agree with @penking your work is well put together and i enjoy rumaging through the reports. Thank you. @timcliff
