Steemit Record Pool // Song Of The Day - "Stand Tall" by Childish Gambino
After a short break from posting I'm back with my theme for January - Empowerment - for the Steemit Record Pool with this beautiful song from Childish Gambino AKA Donald Glover's 2016 Awaken, My Love! album.
When I first heard his name, I was reluctant to even give a listen to the music because I was assuming he was one of those mumble-rap types. I'm not sure what led me to actually investigate, but it was probably seeing more posts about the album from my peers in the industry. I'm happy that I did though! And I really love the whole project, it still gets rotation in my whip...
Stand Tall is a track about keeping your head up despite the obstacles that block our way to happiness, success and love. For me, this song is a reminder to stick with my dreams regardless of the hardships I need to endure to achieve them. I hope this will also serve as inspiration to those listening!
I also wanted to share a video about why Donald Glover is planning to retiring Childish Gambino.
Also! He's a great actor and I really loved his role in Atlanta and I was impressed to learn he was also the writer and creator. Have you seen it yet? Looking fwd to season 2 in Feb!

If you have a chance do listen to the whole album it's great! Atlanta episodes are not too long so it shouldn't be draining to binge them all!
I do binge - watching once in a while. I had binged Game of Thrones before. From S1 to S7. I was really drained. Not going to attempt anything like that again.
If it's not too long, I think Atlanta should be manageable.

I couldn't make out the genre of the song. Soul? Unique. Not use to it but easy to the ear. I would listen to this song while steemit.

Wow now that I read the #recordpool information, they really are quite similar! I love how thorough the #recordpool posts are! Do you take part with @djlethalskillz to run it? I would love to brainstorm some ways to collaborate without starting some sort of internal steem competition.
