In 1998 "Northern Touch" catapulted Canadian Hip Hop into the mainstream as the first official East - West posse cut showcasing some of the top talent in the country.
The Rascalz (Red1 & Misfit) assembled Kardinal Offishall, Thrust and Choclair from Toronto and added Checkmate, also from Vancouver, to create a Canadian Hip Hop Anthem. The music video was directed by (the now famous) Little X and their album Cash Crop took home a Juno Award for Best Rap Recording. '98 was a good year for Hip Hop.
I remember when this came out and in 2017 this joint still gets rinse back home!
