consumed by consumption

we're consumed by consumption
fighting to defend the status quo
electronic beads and mirrors
faces lost in liquid crystal glow

and just how the west was won
infiltrating each heart and mind
by temptation or by the bullit
necessary means will be assigned

today our minds are colonized
closed off information bubble
invisible prisons we created
where no privacy spells trouble

not much is there i want to hide
but do they really need to know all
how will we live under panopticon
if humanity fails and freedoms fall

aren't those who forget the past
not always condemned to repeat it
there's someone shaping our future
past horrors stand ready to revisit

i have an offer you can't decline
you think about it in your slumbers
it might be true they out gun us
but come to it we've got the numbers
