Steemit Poets United : Daily Dose of Poetry and Prose #30
TADA! So, here we are again with another daily dose! Number 30, we have managed to determine...
I think it's clear that the rotation is not yet working as intended, we're working on that.
We created some new roles to give distinction to the poets and we created a VIP room... The VIP room is only open to contributors only and what goes on in the VIP room stays in the VIP room wink We have some interesting plans with that. If you want to contribute by, for instance, writing a daily dose every once in a while just let us know. It is quite fun to do, so join in and be an active part of this amazing community!
So with the household messages out of the way lets got to the meat of the matter, the poetry!
There were a lot of entries for this issue, 18 to be precise, so i picked out what i found the best and most touching ones.
Here we go!
"In works of love, I will lay the rose,
though the petals stain my pages, deep."
The first poem that i want to present is this one by @mah7, one of our regulars here at #PoetsUnited. He has delivered another excellent poem with
"Close my eyes, And I imagine your body"
The next poem is a sensual one that might make you zone out for a bit. @tcpaikano will certainly take your mind away with
"Words were meant to be whispered to waves"
The third entry is a must read, it's by @carmalain7, and it will make you feel all sorts of things! Just do this one, i won't spoil it...
"And the sky mourned the earth."
From @warpedpoetic came this nice post, it has pictures and a poem! It is about what is seen during a trip to Abuja. It asks poignant questions to the reader!

"Broken to my core, unable to live as i was"
The fifth entry today comes from @mhizsophie, in this poem she uses the transformation of the caterpillar into a butterfly as a metaphor for forced metamorphosis in real life. You should not miss this!

"I dared and I wrote to you thousands of poems"
This next entry is all about taking a risk, very relatable in the figurative and litteral sense. It was submitted by @cthkrn and is called
"The night becomes a kind of day"
The 7th entry is by @bennetitalia and it's a beautifully consice little jewel. It was written for the Steemit poetry contest and is called
"You were my worst distraction but now I am distracted without you"
The last one today is a heart wrenching poem, that i feel has to do with losing a brother or a sister, although this is not mentioned. I think we can all imagine how bad that would be but @dhayor writes down the misery and despair in a wryly beautiful way.
And a special mention for this little gem of a find/post by @lymepoet, he found a letter from his grandfather to his grandmother that was 79 years old! In it his grandfather wrote a little poem, i won't spoil it for you, check it out for yourself!
