Steemit Open Mic is an online, live music venue to give musicians a chance to share their music with the Steemit community and get their music heard. It is growing larger every week thanks to all of you.
This week's entries have been split into two posts because we have so many entries that we broke the post size limit on Steemit!

There have been a flush of new accounts downloading people's valid Open Mic entries, uploading them to a new YouTube account, and posting it as their own performance on their multiple Steemit accounts. Those will not be included and I have muted those accounts.
To the scammers doing this, muting your account means I will no longer see your posts so you are wasting yours and every one elses time continuing down that path.
We put a new rule in place that is designed to stop scammers, not singers as some people seemed to have interpreted this post.

Hey @luzcypher,
I help run a contest called #comedyopenmic. We have been running for 8 weeks now, and the idea is we allow anything funny to come in. Since we started the contest has given away 361 SBD and 138 Steem to our contestants, as well as getting 3 curie approvals in the same week.
The reason I mention this is that I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a OpenMic / ComedyOpenMic collaborative week. If you're interested let me know, we can work out the details on a way forward.
I think it'll be a lot of fun.

Hello Luzcypher. We noticed that our entry didn't make any of these two lists. Does that mean we were disqualified? Could you please let us know why if that is the case? We thought for sure it counted, as you commented on our post saying you enjoyed the harmonies. We are new to all of this so maybe there is something we did wrong. We are very grateful with the result of last weeks openmic where we got a lot of love and would like to continue submitting entries in the coming weeks, but it would help if we knew what things not to do in the future. Thank you!

No, you were upvoted. However, there are rules in place for a reason.
For example, the rule that says openmic must be the first tag.
When openmic is not the first tag the post will not be included in the weekly post and you miss out on votes from all the people following the OpenMic Trail.
You post still got upvoted, however.
:( So I guess I won't upload my submission videos to Dtube anymore. I think they always put Dtube as their first tag automatically. I'll just post to vimeo and make my steemit blog post with openmic as the first tag. Thanks for the explanation. Hopefully next week I can do this properly for once!
They used to require DTube be the first tag but that is no longer the case. You can use DTube but make sure openmic is the first tag and you need to embed a YouTube or Vimeo link in your post as well.
This is clearly explained more than once on every Open Mic post under the rules
