American Pale Ale
History:
Balter Brewing Company was established at Burleigh on the Gold Coast of Australia by some of Australia's surfing legends. Joel Parkinson, Mick Fanning, Bede Durbidge and Josh Kerr were surfing in Hawaii when they started discussing setting up a brewery in their hometown. So they did and brought former Stone & Wood and Byron Bay brewer Scotty Hargrave on board to help them make some fine brews. This gave birth to Balter brewery. You can visit the brewery directly and purchase straight from the 'cellar door'.

Drinkers Review:
This beer has won a stack of awards over the past 12 months so I just had to grab a few coldies to try out for myself. It pours a pale straw colour and has a fruity aroma. It has a perfect balance of heavy and light and if an IPA is a bit too full on for you, then this is a great medium for the beer connoisseur.
The branding of this beer is something that really stands out for me. It is not your usual beer branding with is modern minimalist approach with pastel colours. Balter means to "to dance artlessly without particular skill or grace, but usually with enjoyment" and this brew embodies that meaning.
In a market flooded by pale ales this beer stands out way above most. Overall an excellent drop and one I recommend for anyone to try.

Awesome! When we were in Aus last September, we struggled to find cool craft beers and breweries (we did enventually find Foghorn and Murray's). I think we went unprepared, expecting to find one on every corner like you do here (BC, Canada). We found this lovely beer in the bottle-o around the corner from one of the hotels we stayed in... I think it was in Brisbane. We were initially drawn to the beautiful minimal branding but really enjoyed this fresh, crisp brew, especially in the sunshine. Just beautiful! Thanks for the review! Cheers!
I reviewed this beer a while ago. It’s one of my new favourites. Fantastic XPA, perfect for the warmer months. I haven’t tried the others in their range yet.
