Drinkers Review:

XXXX Gold is a mid-strength beer with a clear golden body and a white head that fizzles to nothing. This beer is the weak little brother of XXXX Bitter. It is a beer that allows red blooded Aussies to consume 2 cans in the first hour, and 1 every hour after that and still be able to drive home without the risk of losing your licence and having your car crushed under the draconian, nanny state eye. When the other options are VB, Toohey's New and XXXX Bitter then this would be the beer of choice, aside from that there is little reason to touch this with a barge pole. It's actually pretty ordinary, but hey, any beer on a hot summers day is better than none.

XXXX also sponsors the best State of Origin team in the world!

very very Nice post dear friend. @scooter77

Queensland!

How do you pronounce "XXXX", anyway?

Forex!

That Castlemain Brewery sign takes me back (hey @aussiesteem!) That and the old wheatbix factory. XXXX may be a QLD institution but I definitely agree with you that Gold should not be the official #teamaustralia beer. ;-)

I love many Aussie beers, perhaps it's time to hold a vote and find out which amber ale (or darker fluid) should be the official brew of #teamaustralia @sirknight

That's a bloody great idea! Something gives me the feeling it's going to be a little bit contentious. ;-)

I love local beer!

Haha when are you going to review Fosters ;) (I know Australians Dont drink it, but you have most Americans convinced Fosters is Australian for beer). Keep your eye out for Yuenling when you're over here in the states on the East Coast. If you like Lagers you should check it out. When you're in South be sure to look for Shiner when you're in Lousiana. If I think of more I'll let you know.

Thanks for reading and the advice!
