Members June Fundraising Raffle : Call For Prizes and Sponsors

For the first 2 months of our SSG-Community Upvote Service we have had very generous raffles run by @raybrockman with all proceeds going toward SP Leases that have benefited ALL the members of SteemSilverGold. Last month we had @thedamus jump in and sweeten the pot with his own prize donation and in doing so he showed us the way forward. We can’t just be relying on the generosity of one or two people every month to sustain a regular fundraiser raffle and keep all our SP Leases. It is time to for us to go to the next level and get more people involved in supporting this community.

Two weeks ago I (@buggedout) put a post out to float an idea for a Monster Raffle Fundraising Concept and it is something that I have seen work quite successfully in the physical world. Initial responses were pretty positive and there was no negative feedback at all, so it’s time to try and put this idea into action and see if it will fly.

If you haven’t read the post there are 3 main parts to this concept :-

1. Open Prize Donation Up to all Members

Instead of relying on 1 or 2 super generous members every month, we are going to open it up so that all members can put some Silver or Gold into the prize pool. This will help to ensure the monthly raffle is sustainable and get more people involved to show their support for this great community.

2. Canvas Businesses for Sponsorship and Cross-Promotion

There are a few merchants here already in #SteemSilverGold and there are sure to be more on the way. These businesses can sponsor the raffle with prize donations that effectively shows off a brand and/or product line they might want to promote to a membership which is always out there buying Silver and Gold. It’s a Win-Win exchange for both the Businesses and the Community Members.

3. Turn the Draw into a Live Discord Event

With a fixed time for the draw to occur publically in Discord we can turn the monthly fundraising raffle into an online event which not only creates a buzz around the community but it will also be a good catalyst to get members together to network with each other and share knowledge. It might even help us recruit new members.

So with the idea now out there, we can flesh out some of the details. Ticket sales for the June raffle will kick off on June 1, which is AFTER all the membership payments for June have closed off. But before ticket sales can commence we need to put the call out to members and sponsors to see if we can get some prizes in the pot before June 1. That’s what this post is about. The more prizes and the more eventual winners the better for #SteemSilverGold to get the word out and encourage people to get involved with Gold and Silver and this great community along with it.

The only requirements for prize donation / sponsorship is that :-

1. The prize needs to be in the form of Silver and / or Gold
2. The prize needs to have a minimum value of $15 USD
3. The donating member / sponsor needs to accept responsibility for posting out to the eventual winner (NOTE : This might require International Posting)

We encourage people to make a post about their prize and comment on this post with a link to it so that we can collate all the information in one place. We can then update the table below as the prizes are registered. Once all the prizes are registered we can make a big promotional post about them all before ticket sales begin. I (@buggedout) am going to kick things off by putting in a 1oz Silver STEEM Round from 2017 and I’ll make a personal post on this and link it all up so you can have an example to follow.
