Five minute free write - dude

'Of all the fucking ways to die,' Jim thought to himself as he clutched a bloody nail-clogged baseball bat to his chest. He'd survived for weeks, months now. The end had come suddenly, and it was a total 'wtf?' kind of moment. I mean, no one, and I mean no one would have, could have seen it coming.

Like a sick joke left behind by the pissed off ghost of a mad scientist, and he wasn't thinking about the zombie bit.

The zombie bit was bad, yes. All that flesh craving violence they brought with them, not at all. But, damn, what the kicker was...

'Dude...duuuuuddddee...duuudde...' answered by a, 'broooooo, bro, brooooooo.' Jim clasped his hands to ears ears.

'Seriously, wtf?'

None of the scientists to date had been able to figure it out. Of course their main focus was the zombie bit. The virulant plague bit had no equal and spread globallly within days despite the CDC's deserate rush. But, there was as splinter cell of truly obsessed scientists trying to figure out why the hell they said, well, what they said. Instead of just moaning like good zombies.

He firmed himself. The 'duuuuuude's' and the 'bro's' were getting closer and closer. At least he could take out a few more of them. Anger from years of being the little kid on the playground welled up from deep inside him as he stood.

Such a beautiful day here in Los Angeles.

It's 4/20, the sun is shining, the temperature is sitting in the 70's, and I've got plans for the evening. Maybe that's why I decided to write something a little more light-hearted. I mean, how can zombies that groan out 'dude' and 'bro' not be funny? Hordes upon hordes of them in fields, crossing streets, plaintively groping at the edges of barricades in a desperate but lovely attempt to fist-bump it out.

Hope y'all are having a great Friday! Just wanted to pump out some words before getting drawing again :) I might even get started painting tonight depending on when I get home. Nothing like a little bit of Friday night creation!
