Story: Matthew and the Dragons (Part XLVIII)
Part XLVIII
The explosion startled everyone greatly—even the great dragons.
"What the hell is that?!?!" Someone yelled in shock.
"I don't know!" Another person answered.
The shock of the explosion was so great that everyone's panicking.
After a while the dust settled. And when they looked at the site of the explosion they experienced a greater shock. Ground where the explosion occured have a huge, scorched crater in it!
"What power!" Someone cannot helped but exclaimed.
"Indeed, if that thing explodes in a highly populated area..." someone thought, and the thought of it made him shudder.
Everyone then looked at Matthew who stands there without any change in his expression. They now looked at this young man in a new, and terrifying light.
The golden dragon drew in a cold breath before asking, "how many of that thing could you make?"
Matthew looked at the golden dragon then answered, "as many as necessary."
The answer chilled everyone's heart, to think that such a destructive weapon could be mass produced.
Matthew, still without expression spoke, "I think you all figure out how I planned to force the crimson dragon from the tower, right?"
Everyone nodded. Indeed, it's not that hard to figure what the young man is planning. The plan is so easy it is almost laugheable. Yet no one dares to laugh, that's because this stupidly simple plan can easily spell the end for the crimson dragon!
Some even started feeling sorry for the former dragon king...
Back at the alliance headquarter, Matthew is currently explaining the plan. Despite the fact that everyone already figured out the geist of it, they still listened as to not miss any important detail.
"I will have to ask everyone here to provide some of the materials for the "exploding barrels" to the kingdom could manufacture it, we are severely lacking some materials. I will name the materials needed, fortunately the dragon council will provide half of the materials needed so I will only ask one type of materials from each one of you. Lastly, I will need as many potioneers that anyone can provide. My requirements for the said potioneers aren't harsh. I just need them to be able to follow instruction without trouble." Matthew said while looking at everyone present.
The dragon council, and the alliance leaders agreed to Matthew's request without complaint.
Matthew then silently looked at the alliance leaders which for some reason makes them nervous. He then said, "after this war is over, I will seal the knowledge of the weapons used in this war, this includes, the firebringers, and the explosive barrels. I know that many of you will complaint but for the peace of the continent, and our continued co-existence with the dragon race, and other races, this must be done."
"What?!" Every members of the alliance was shocked by this announcement, except the king who already knew this matter.
But the shock did not end there, because Matthew revealed another bombshell! His going to go on an exile in Dragon Isle—the land of the dragons!
This unexpected revealation even shocked the great dragons. They never in their wildest dream expect that Matthew would go that far to protect the knowledge of those weapons!
After the unexpected announcement, Matthew was sent back to the kingdom by the silver dragon. He then started the preparing for the arrival of the materials, and potioneers. Several days later batches of materials arrived, carried by the wyverns, and great dragons. The potioneers too arrived in batches. And very soon the manufacturing factories started operating at full force...
