After the shadow dragon fall there was great silence. Both the soldiers of the opposing sides, stopped fighting and only gawked at this unbelievable scene. Even the lesser dragons and wyverns had stopped moving. But then the silence was destroyed by the shadow dragon's angry but terrified roars.

ROAR! BANG! CLANG! CRUSH!

 

"IMPOSSIBLE!!! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! HOW COULD A GREAT DRAGON LIKE ME LOSE!?!" Screamed the shadow dragon in anger and humiliation. At the same time, the shadow dragon ripped the metal net apart. And, then pull out the harpoons with all his strenght.

Blood scattered like flower petals as the harpoon's serated edges damages the flesh. Yet, the shadow dragon doesn't seemed to care about his bloodied wounds. All his attention is focused on the weapon standing proudly atop the castle fort. His eyes was raging with the flame if anger yet he dare not attack. The experience is still fresh in his mind and for the first time in his long life he felt unbridled fear!

ROOAAARRR!!!

 

The shadow dragon let out an aggrieved and long roar, and then, without warning flew away with great speed. Though he could still fight, his courage and pride had been shattered by the new weapon. The only thing in his mind now is to stay far away from that cursed weapon as far as possible.

And hence, from that day on, the shadow dragon was no longer seen. No one knows where he went or even if he is still alive.

Everyone was still dumbfounded by the sudden turn of event. But all of the sudden, a soldier from the kingdom started to cheer—waking everyone else in the process.

The enemy general ordered a full retreat and very quickly, along with the dragons, left the battlefield.

Though he'd seen the enemy escaping, the fort commander did not order a pursuit. First, no one knows if there are ambushes waiting. And, even if there's none, he cannot push the enemy too far or risk mutual destruction. Besides, the enemy's morale had been crushed by the devastating defeat of a greater dragon. Therefore, he should be content with the result.

Meanwhile, a huge silvery figure is currently floating thousands of feet in the sky. This silvery figure is none other than the silver dragon!

But he is not alone, he is currently facing another figure. A figure clad in pure darkness—the black dragon!

"Why are you hindering me, silver dragon?!" Growl the black dragon, "we cannot let such weapon to exist!"

The silver dragon simply looked at the black dragon in silence.

"Can't you see? That weapon is capable of harming greater dragons! It's a danger to our race!" Screamed the black dragon furiously.

"Go back!" The silver dragon answered without much emotion.

"You fool! Your decision will spell the end for our race!" Roar the black dragon, "you and the red dragon are fools! The human race are too dangerous! They must be controlled."

"GO BACK, BLACK DRAGON!" The silver dragon roared with firmness.

"YOU DOOMED US ALL!!!" The black dragon furiously said before turning and flying with incredible speed until not a shadow was seen.

The silver dragon sighed with a heavy heart. He knows that the black dragon is right, mankind is growing too fast and will soon become the overlord of this world. Yet neither he nor the black dragon could stop it.

"It seems that a new era is about to start..."

Back at the fort, the commander quickly wrote a long report and ordered several hawks to deliver them. The report contains the result of the battle as well as the effectiveness of the new weapon.
