"After the defeat of the shadow dragon, the black dragon become more determined to burn the kingdom to the ground," the silver dragon declared.

"What?!" Matthew and the king exclaimed.

The silver dragon looked at the two then said, "this should not come as a surprise. After all you've defeated a great dragon. And, the black dragon now saw your kind as a threat to the dragon race."

Matthew and the king looked at each other. From the silver dragon's tone, it seemed that this war have more meaning than what they initially thought.

"You're thoughts are correct. There's a deeper reason for this war," said the silver dragon, as if reading there minds.

*Sigh *

Sighing, the silver dragon explained the true reason why the black dragon wanted to attack the kingdom. According to him, the human race is becoming more and more powerful, thus minority of the greater dragons felt like they needed to do something to curb mankind's growth. Fortunately, the majority disagree to this and opt to leave things to fate.

Of course the other side refuses to concede, especially the black dragon. But the silver dragon, along with the other dragons that supported mankind forced these great dragons to give up on the idea. Yet, this does not stop the black dragon's plan to subdue the human race.

And, the opportunity arrives when the red dragon suddenly disappeared, leaving his teritory unattended. Seeing this as an opportunity, the black dragon tries to initiate the attack but was intercepted by the silver dragon, who's a good friend of the red dragon. The two fought to a stalemate and were both gravely wounded in the battle.

"I believe you already know what happened next?" He said.

Matthew and the king didn't say anything and merely nod at the question. The two of them lnew full well what happened after that.

"You mean the great dragons are feeling threatened because of our potentials?" The king finally asked.

"Indeed... we dragons are definitely the most powerful race. This is a fact but in term of potentials for growth, none can match your race," answered the silver dragon, he then added, "not to mention that there's just too many of you. And, I won't be surprised if mankind fill every corner of this world. On the contrary, we greater dragons are few in numbers. This is our greatest weakness. Our only weakness."

"But maybe this is the "will" of the world. After all, we are blessed with such great power. If we have the numbers too then none can threaten us. So in the end a balance is needed..."

Matthew could feel the pride in the words of the silver dragon, at the same time he felt the great dragon's sorrow. Knowing that it was his inventions that changes the situation, Matthew felt very complicated inside.

"No need ro feel guilty lad. What's happening right now is just fate at work. If you did not create those weapons, someone else will," said the silver dragon gently.

"Thank you lord silver dragon," replied Matthew in appreciation.

The silver dragon nod slightly then said, "it's already destined that our domination of this world is over, but the others, especially the black dragon will not give without a fight. Therefore, expect a hard fought battle. Win or lose, mankind's era is upon us..."

After saying those words, the silver dragon spread his magnificent wings and flew.

Seeing the silver dragon flying away, determination can be seen inside Matthew and the king's eyes. A bright future is waiting for mankind, but they must pay for it with blood!
