Story: Matthew And The Dragons (Part XX)
Part XX
Boris and the knights surrounds the girl with swords drawn after hearing what she said. But strangely, the mysterious girl didn't panicked nor did she draw her own weapon, not that she's carrying any weapon of sort.
The scene of several burly men surrounding a delicate looking girl but none of the civilians present do anything. Not because they are afraid of the men but because many of them recognized most of them as knights. Also, the fact that these men's faces are colored with seriousness.
The girl looked at the men and recognized Boris.
"Eh? Aren't you the strong warrior that I fought at the forest of gloom?" Asked the girl with a surprise expression.
"When did you became a knight?" She asked again.
Boris saw the nonchalant on the assassin's face and gets confused.
"Are you sure that you should be asking that?" Asked Boris. "You're surrounded you know?"
The girl laughed after hearing his questions.
"What are you laughing at?!" A knight shouted in anger.
The girl merely glanced at the knight then lost all interest. She then unknowingly appeared before Matthew!
"Hey, hey, what are the tools that you used to escape the ambush? Also, I heard that those so called "hives" are your invention... is that true?" Asked the girl nonstop.
Everyone watching are dumbfounded because of shock, not knowing how she managed to get to Matthew without anyone noticing.
"Get away from him!" Aria exclaimed then throws our a punch!
Despite the suddeness of the attack, the girl manages to dodge by tilting her body sideway. Yet the girl did not retaliate and just smiled.
"You're stronger than that time at the forest but... still not enough!" She said.
Aria gets more annoyed but was stopped by Matthew. Aria was confused but did not continue her attack.
"Why are you here?" Asked Matthew, "Are you here to assassinate me?"
"Nope! I'm not here on a mission. I got a rare break from the organization, therefore I decided to roam around the city!" Girl answered, "also, you're case is special and the organization decided to put your name on our whitelist!"
"Whitelist? What's that?" Thomas asked in confusion.
"A whitelist is a whitelist!" the girl exclaimed, "I'm kidding! Actually a whitelist is a list which contains the name of people that our organizations deem as non targets. Meaning, no assassin from our organization is allowed to assassinate you!"
"So, you have nothing to worry about as your no longer a target!" She add.
This peace of news surprised and delights Matthew at the same time.
"Can I trust your words?" Matthew asked.
"Of couse!" The girl replied.
Matthew then asked Boris and the Knights to put fown there weapons. The knights obviously disagree but Matthew manages to assure them and asked the girl to seat down. To protect Matthew from any sudden attacks, they decided to seat on the nearby tables. Boris took a chair from another table sits at the table nearest to the group so that he could better protect Matthew.
Meanwhile Amy and Aria are looking at the girl wearily but since Matthew assured them that everything is okay, they could only keep their vigilance.
After calming everyone, Matthew looked at the mysterious girl and asked her name.
