Story: Matthew And The Dragons (Part VII)

*Hurried foot steps *
Four people cutting sorry figures are hurrying through the forest. These people are Thomas and his group.
The four were ambushed when they are nearing the entrance of the forest of gloom. If not for Aria and Boris' effort, and Thomas' quick thinking they would've been buried in the forest. Though they manages to escape their two guards were wounded and they have to turn back.
"Who was it! Whose doing all of this!" Aria rages.
"Stop talking and keep running!" Boris scolded.
"But those people are stopping us from saving our kingdom!" Aria exasperatedly exclaimed.
Hearing what Aria said, Thomas and the others are solemn. Indeed, their ambushers are humans and not monsters nor dragons. It's very obvious that some people didn't want the kingdom to be saved. For what their motives are, no one knows.
After running for like forever, the group finally hit their limits—especially Aria and Boris who are injured and Amy whose physical capability was weak to begin with.
"Do you have any plan?" Boris asked Thomas.
The rest of the group look at Thomas. Though the ones who fought their way so they could all escape was Aria and Boris, Thomas' quick thinking and strange tools played a big part as well, as such they developed quite the trust on his ability. Even Amy was impressed with his capability—and she's someone who is not easily impressed.
"It's impossible to run forever, we could only fight if we wanted to escape the forest alive," answered Thomas.
"But fighting them head on is out of the question. We could only succeed with an ambush," he added.
Thomas then explained his plan. Meanwhile...
"Did you found them?" Asked an arrogant male voice.
"Not yet milord," aswered one of the man.
"Useless!" The arrogant man aswered.
"Please calm down sir. Those four won't be able to escape!" Said a warrior with confident.
"They better not, or were finished once the king learned of this," the arrogant man solemnly said.
These group of people were the one's who ambushed and chased after Thomas' group. Like what Aria said, they're group of traitors who wanted the black dragon's attack to succeed. The reason for their betrayal is political in nature.
Seeing his group silenced, the arrogant man looked at the cloak figure walking not far from the main group.
"Hey you, assassin, come here for a minute!" Ordered the arrogant man.
The cloaked assassin ignores the arrogant noble and kept walking.
"Did you not hear what I said?!" The man yells, incensed.
Ignoring the idiot that keeps yammering, the cloaked assassin looked around for any clue that would betray the location of her target.
After being ignored twice, the arrogant noble was about to explode from rage when a warrior stopped him.
"Sir, that assassin is from "that" organization. We cannot afford to antagonized them!" Warned the warrior.
Hearing about that certain organization, the arrogant noble swallowed his anger. Though he is arrogant, he's not stupid. He knows that antagonizing such an organization would noy be good for him and his clan.
Grumbling inside, the arrogant noble is about to give another order when a scout rushed to his side.
