What does it mean "We are the land, the land is us"?

@wwf

I don't think most people really comprehend our relationship with each other and Mother Earth. We have lived our entire lives thinking that we are separate from one another and our environment, but in reality, we are all a part of one another in the most intimate and connected way.
To put it in a way that I hope most could comprehend, consider your own body. Each cell in your body is a unique being who agreed to work together for mutual benefit. Each cell has its own purpose and they are more than happy to fulfill that purpose for their own survival and the survival of everyone else. How easy is it for you to cut off your own finger, arm or toe? Shit, people even freak out when their hair is not cut the way they want it.

Elevating the game | Foreword - The cult of society and escaping cloaked dogmas

@paradigmprospect

Naiveté is part of growing up, we often take things at face value, run with established stories and narratives or even take part in spreading ideas that may turn out to be wrong in hindsight.
I distinctly remember as a kid wanting to find out "how this world works" and I was looking at adults around me in the assumption that they must know. Despite my many questions that never got answered I did my best to do it "their way" until my own experiences and insights mounted and I was eventually forced to walk my own path.
But still I had not figured out that many of the "stations" a free thinker goes through include those stages that are set up for us to fall into. And there are many of them.

Journey To The Ancients // Canyon Of The Ancients, Aztec Ruins National Monument, USA

@eaglespirit

On my unplanned journey to meet the people of my tribe I started writing about it on Steemit.
If people have not read my experience from the start here is a small review. This all happened unexpectedly and will be the outline of my book, so anyone interested will get to see firsthand the reunion that will happen towards the end of this adventure.
First, a little background ...
As many Native Americans in the United States our families were separated approximately around the year 1850 give or take. Many of our women were sold off as slaves and my great great grandmother was one of those selected for that life experience. This was on my mother’s side of the family, and these records are all but lost minus the Hopi oral history.

20190108 - Warm Golden Milk - Day 237 - Haiku, Recipe, and Instructions

@crescendoofpeace

Since we haven't had nearly enough posts on turmeric of late, I thought I'd add another to the mix, and introduce one of my own favorite nightcaps, particularly on a cold night . . . such as we are not having at the moment.
It is currently two minutes to midnight, on 7 January 2019, and it is 58 degrees outside here in Middle Tennessee, and we are expecting a low of 54 degrees F.
While not unheard of, this warmth is certainly atypical for early January in Tennessee, and in a couple of nights we'll be back down into the low twenties.
But I'm enjoying it for now, as are my animals, and as this was our third day without rain, I was actually able to mow for a couple of hours this afternoon, which was a godsend, as I'm still trying to knock down our three-foot-tall grass in the front field for the winter.

Most On Here Are Extremely Old Souls

@taskmaster4450

How do you know if you are an old soul or not?
I would say that most who are involved in cryptocurrency are old souls. We have been around the block a time or two (or a few thousand). In short, we saw it all over the centuries.
Old souls tend to be a bit "off" according to society. They tend to walk their own path while ignoring what is mainstream. Believing the media or most of the establishment is not in the cards. We know they are lying. Following the masses is not something we choose to do. This, of course, can leave some of us a bit jaded at times.
The advantage old souls have is they are quick to change. Since they experienced so much, they tend to lead the way forward. New innovations and ideas are embraced. Newer souls need to be lead. They lack the years of experience that come from eons of experience.

Spread the Awesomeness! Don't Worry, Be happy

@vincentnijman

I'm feeling great today and - although it might sound cliche - that's what life is all about. Not necessarily about me feeling great but about being happy as much as we can. We can only spread the awesomeness and inspire, help and support others, if we feel good about our own lives: if we love ourselves. It seems like I am finally starting to love myself. It took me 37 years, but it was all worth it.
I am starting to realize more and more that it's all about helping others while not forgetting ourselves in the process. It's also all about enjoying the process as much as you can. It might help to have goals but don't focus on them too much, they might make you loose all perspective, give you a tunnel vision. And, although there's always light at the end of the tunnel, we don't necessarily need to walk through a tunnel. There's a whole world to explore and enjoy.

Responding to Some Total BS About GMOs; with Neil deGrasse Tyson

@kennyskitchen

Today's post is something a little new for me; not only is this one of the most edited of the videos I've posted, but it's the first time I've posted a response video, so it's exciting to be bringing this to you :-)
I've talked about GMOs a handful of times on my blog, but it certainly isn't a big focus of mine. My stance on GMOs has two main facets, which are important to hold together in our current world.
I am not opposed to the scientific concept of genetically engineering plants & animals. I think that in time, without the profit motive or control structures involved, there could be profound benefits to be found in this science.

France to Ban Unapproved Protests in Effort to Stop Yellow Vests, Netherlands Cops Arrest Yellow Vest Wearing Mother with Baby in Carriage

@krnel

The yellow vests have become such a pain to the French government that they are going to probably enact a new "law" that bans protests unless authorization is given by the government. Some are shocked at this move, comparing it to a dictatorship law. Maybe so, but it's already a "law" in Canada. This is the "free world" now.
French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe presented this new goal for the government in order to stem the violence that protesters bring forth. The expectation is that the law, by making unsanctioned protest illegal, will end the unrest that has spread through France in recent months. The new law will also ban the use of wearing masks, putting an end to anonymity for the protesters who attend legal protests. He said the government would support a

Earth Deeds - Volume 6 SPECIAL EDITION - CONTEST ENTRY ARTICLE - Win Up-Votes from @TribeSteemUp & @EarthTribe + A Special Prize This Week

@elamental

This contest is designed to inspire people to create content that reflects their services to the Earth. The process of creating and hosting this contest, has also made me a better Earth custodian, and has inspired me to reduce my carbon footprint even more than I already have been, and continuously report on my actions of conservation.
This contest is a chance for each of you to easily participate in a cause that is bigger than all of us, which is the crusade to make our home beautiful again. All our little Earth Deeds combined will make a big difference over time, and documenting and publishing these deeds will make our impact even greater, as we inspire others to do the same.

The Psychology Of Control: Yellow Vests And The Final Rebellion

@perceptualflaws

I'm right in the middle of writing a big research based post, but it became apparent that I wouldn’t finish it in time (it will be out next week) so I thought I’d share a few thoughts and write a bit of an open letter to the yellow vest movement. I’ve been observing/researching the control system (and reverse engineering the psychology behind it) for approaching thirty years and the momentum of change has seldom been more palpable. It's my belief that we are approaching a watershed moment and (for better or worse) the decisions we make over the course of the next few years, will dictate the course of human history and define/redefine our very humanity.
With my recent house move/renovation and Christmas break I haven’t had the chance to look into the yellow vests; from a purely observational standpoint, I’d say they are potentially one of the only true grass roots movements of the last twenty years.

Gematria - The Magic Of Numbers And Letters (Part 1)

@flauwy

Welcome back, truth seekers!
2018 has been the year of the number 11 in Numerology. It woke me up to the power of numbers, leading to a magical journey to SteemFest3 in Krakow. After returning, I started watching Zachary Hubbard's YouTube channel (his 18th, since the previous 17 have been deleted by YT). He talks about the fascinating topic of Gematria, the practice of Numerology for letters, words and phrases. It goes back to the Greek philosopher Pythagoras (and probably way beyond him).
here is one of his recent and very popular videos about George H. W. Bush's death and the numbers behind that:

The Lunation in Capricorn 2019 -- understanding life's current trends -- Part 2

@enchantedspirit

Once again, here's what the Lunation Chart looks like this month.
The Lunation in Capricorn
So here are the positive things about this Lunation chart.
All this Capricorn energy!!! -- it can be so productive!!
The Lunation, Saturn and Pluto are sextile to Neptune.
Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune are all in their home signs.
Uranus is stationary and about to go direct (soon crossing back into Taurus).
Venus in Scorpio (shudder) ... is mercifully void-of-course.
Problems in this Lunation?
All this Capricorn energy!!! -- which can get tedious and flat wear you out!
Jupiter is square to Neptune -- and this will get more intense.
Void in Air element -- for the second month in a row. And void-of-course Venus is the only Fixed element.
It's not really a problem this month, but Mars will be coming square to both Saturn and Pluto during early Aquarius.
All in all, not a bad chart ... considering!

Lexicon of spirit animals: frog

@alexaventuria

Mode of life:
Frogs are four-legged, tailless amphibians which prefer wetland and forests as their natural habitats. There are several hundred different frog species spread over the entire planet, all sharing morphological similarities yet with each species having more or less distinctive peculiarities in terms of height, skin colour patterns and croaking sound. Frogs have tapered heads with protruding eyes and pronounced tympanum. More so, they have long and strong hind legs making them great jumpers, while at the same time the webbing between their toes endows frogs with excellent swimming capabilites. The frog's skin is naturally greasy, in need of moisture, and they feed on small fish and insects, sometimes even smaller frog species.

Magic Mushroom Messages: Interview with 434 (video/podcast)

@paradise-paradox

Since the dawn of man, and maybe a few hours before, people have been using psychedelic substances to expand their consciousness, give them a greater perspective, and get in touch with something divine. Psilocybe mushrooms, peyote and other substances were seen as holy, a sacrament, a way to connect something deep within us.
These days, many might consider that superstition, but as the public discourse and awareness of psychedelics grow, more people are talking about the sacraments' relationship to spiritual experiences, and even contacting wise and ancient entities, with knowledge to impart and calm guidance. Some call them our ancestors, some call them "self-transforming machine elves".

Guess Who Is Funding The 5G Grid?

@earthcustodians

How much people care about their wallets is a perception to keep the crowds distracted so that the devious “cyber assimilation” can be socially engineered without encountering too much resistance... the 2nd video is quite enlightening: how do you think 5G is being implemented... with FEDERAL MONEY, aka taxpayers.
Of course communication providers are not going to pay for this massive implementation. After the 2 minute mark, paraphrasing: the county is concerned about the 5G arising controversy that could delay federal funding and hopes to get an extension. BINGO... follow the money.

Productive Fun We Can Get Up to Together

@indigoocean

I'm going to spare you tales of more fucking snow, and just say, it's snowing again. Also my propane is down to just 20% full again, after only refilling it 1 month ago and being told that it needed filling about every 4 months. No coyotes encountered in the cold, driving snow on our walk today though, so that's a good thing.
Anyway, today to focus on other things besides the trials and tribulations of mountain life...

2019: The Year Of The Earth Pig

@metametheus

The times, they are a-changin'
With only a couple more weeks left of the Year of the Earth Dog, I have delved into the ancient Chinese astrological texts, and contemplated the Taoist and alchemical symbols in preparation for the Lunar New Year on February 5, 2019. It looks like the upcoming Year of the Earth Pig is shaping up to be a year of healing and preparing for a new cycle of growth and evolution.
The structure of the Taoist alchemical calendar
The ancient Chinese calendar is a fusion of two different calendars, both dating back to the early Zhou Dynasty (around 1050 BCE), and possibly earlier.
The Heavenly Stems was a ritual calendar thought to have been used predominantly by the ruling elites and is based on the movement of the stars (see table below).

A (Vague) Resolution or Two for 2019: Response to The Natural Medicine Resolution Challenge (Plus Weekend Away in Strathbogie - Photos)

@riverflows

I've just got back from the Strathbogie Ranges in Victoria, where we stayed in the van in a friends driveway. We had a beautiful time sitting by the creek under an apple tree chinwagging and swimming, eating cheese and drinking wine. Conversation moved from crop circles to aliens, making tinctures to the brilliance of dogs, how fucking great blue cheese is and what we have planned for the year ahead. My friend is an artist, and her resolution was - well, damn resolute - she quite adamantly said that she refused to slip into the same old patterns as the years before. In fact, the resolutions she was making were written on mirrors and cabinets and paper all throughout her house!

A big thank you to @hungryhustle for creating the amazing infographic of the 8 Pillars Of TribeSteemUp and For @eco-alex for creating the tribesteemup banner and logo.
