MODULE 1- INTRODUCTION TO CREATIVE WRITING ✍️

Creative writing simply means any piece of fictional or nonfictional work written in it's original form.

When we say original form, we refer to a breezy, relaxed, attitude with words. It majorly depends on the writer's imagination or creativity.

Special emphasis is placed on creativity not that creative writing is the only form of writing that requires creativity but due to the fact that the writer takes a few strands of fact and weaves it with her imagination.

Creative writing includes but is not limited to biographies, novels, opinion articles, poems, features, etc.

Note that what makes a piece of work creative writing is not the topic or the number of paragraphs it has but on the kind of treatment given to it.

People use creative writing as an avenue to keep record of their experiences, express themselves, share their experiences and for the need to maintain mental and physical health.

Features of Creative Writing...

1. Emotional Impact: Unlike journalistic writing, you're expected to appeal to the emotions of your readers. This is to be able to connect with them.

2. Imaginative: Imagination makes creative writing boundless. Creative writing is free to go out of the normal, thanks to imagination.

3. Creativity Based. This is the core of creative writing. Without creativity, there is no creative writing. Creativity is like the secret recipe to a good writing.

4. Visual Image: Creating a visual image other than stating just facts. You need your reader to be able to see and picture what you write.
