Let me conclude with this. I call them the pitfalls of purpose discovery:
They are pitfalls that you need to be aware of as you climb the ladder of discovering yourself.
1√ Purpose discovery is not a one time thing. Just like a staircase, you keep going with the light you've received till you see it all.
Get a glimpse, work on it and trust God to keep revealing things to you. A human being is so much that just one attempt isn't enough to expose you all. So keep working and digging.
2√ Purpose discovery is not all there is. After you discover the purpose, you still have the duty of achieving it, so don't get tired.
3√ You will make many trial and error stakes while trying to discover yourself but one thing is important. Never stop making those errors. A baby falls many times before he is able to walk.
You're probably a baby in the process of discovering self... Keep failing and pick something as you fall.
4√ Purpose discovery is hinged on God. I'm trying so hard not to sound religious but you really can't discover purpose if you decide to sideline God. He made you, come on! You can't run from him.
To sum it all up, a purposeless life is the beginning of misdirection and misdirection is the root of identity crises.
All these confusions and irresponsible lifestyle some people live is due to the fact that they do not know themselves and so do not know what they deserve.
When you can't explain who you are, any identity can be ascribed to you.
People and even you will describe yourself based on your environment, past, background but the question is, is that what you're really about?
Myles Munroe of blessed memory was right when he said, "the most powerful enemy of mankind is not Satan or sin, but this death-dealing, life stealing force called ignorance".
