WOAH! That's My Drone Up There! Up Close & Personal With Waterfalls!
I don't know about you, but this whole drone thing is BLOWING MY MIND!
I bought a drone as a present to myself after joining Steemit and passing 1000 followers! (I technically co-own it with my brother since we split on it, but as far as I'm concerned, it's my baby!)
So here's the thing... I didn't grow up with very many gadgets or gizmos so this is a whole new world to me! I'm a quick learner though and have had a blast figuring how to get the drone to follow my hand signals and take out of this world footage but unfortunately a lot of it is going to take a tiny bit of editing! I am finally working on it though, promise! ;)
This was one of my first videos when I was still getting used to her!

I was on a waterfall hunt in New Zealand, traveling around in my campervan Sam Wise. Why did I name my van after Frodo's sidekick? Welllll, everyone loves Sam, he's loyal and dependable and wouldn't you want that in the 4 wheels that is taking you up and down the mountainous adventureland of Middle Earth? (Because New Zealand is where they filmed all of the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies!)

TrufflePigThat's really amazing footage. I'm always impressed at how steady drone-shot video looks - like the camera is on a floating tripod.
How much wind can these things handle? We could get some amazing video around our place but it's extremely rare to have a day that's not rainy or windy.
Haha well, for me it's quite hard to get it smooth, it comes out quite choppy a lot of the time. Most of my videos look like it's being handled by a child especially when there were high winds.
Honestly, it doesn't do so hot in the extreme winds. It gets knocked around a lot. After it flew itself into a bush I don't chance it anymore! Mine is the Mavic Pro which is supposed to be one of the better models out there for personal use.... I'd recommend it but just be careful and attentive when you are using it.
Once you get used to it, the motion goes away and you get those clear, straight shots without the shaking! :)
New zealand seems to be amazing for me. The landscape is similar to Europe, but there are no political problems like here.

Hello to Germany :) I actually live in Bali (Indonesia) but this was a fun trip a couple of months ago! You're right in a lot of ways it is similar to Europe. Lots of natural beauty :)
I didn't make it to Germany when I was doing my Euro trip but it's on my list for next year! :)

I love the waterfall! My husband turns 40 this year and he wants a drone too lol The only problem is they are very restricted in the UK and as we don't have that many wide open spaces, there aren't that many places he can use it. But we shall see! :D Looking forward to seeing your future drone vids!
