Since I have been off the (online) radar for a little while with moving, internet refusing to work and everything that came into my life all of a sudden, I have been finding myself in a bunch of weird opportunities that I wouldn't have ever thought of!
Here I am, in Bali, Indonesia, originally from Canada... I live up in the mountains where the focus is more on growing food and spirituality (with vegan restaurants and yoga studios being the norm) and yet somehow I ended up with an invite to a new beach club's grand opening?!
If you know me from some of my Dominican Republic stories, you might understand why it's possible for me to end up in a situation like this.... but the new me doesn't really do the whole partying her face off thing (so often) anymore!
Still, I was intrigued and decided to take a spin down to at least see what all the commotion was about! After all, I'm not going to pass up free ATV riding!
The Invitation:
The invite said it was exclusive access, (definitely determined on your age and looks.)
They were supposed to be recording their promotional footage for their grand opening so it seemed to me like it was going to be a massive event popping off!
I've been coming out of my shell a lot more lately with the move. Since I had to shake up my environment, it's caused me to be out there meeting people and living life and all that (hence my absence on here!)
I decided to pick up some kombucha and leave it in the scooter so that could be my get loose drink (haha!) Kombucha is fermented tea that (when brewed correctly), can give you a slight, natural, buzz. I use it in place of alcohol and it gives me a gentle push when I am feeling shy or anti-social!
I drank a bottle before going in and since I was contacted by the girl hosting the whole thing, ran into her right when I walked in!
Cece! She exclaimed, running over to hug me then quickly invited me to the bar for a drink.
This was weird for me as I denied her hospitality, telling her I had some fermented tea in my scooter and that I was just here to check it out and have fun on a sober level.
I don't think she thought that was so much fun haha!
Anyways, she kind of shrugged it off and sent me down to the ATVs. I LOVE ATV'ing but it's quite expensive to take tours here so this was actually the highlight of the whole event for me!
I ripped it up and down the beach and all the local dogs were running along behind me!
Mount Agung has gotten pretty famous lately in the news, this was the first time I have gotten to see it so directly (thankfully, the threat of eruption has settled!)
As per Bali style, the renovations were undoubtedly weeks behind schedule and so what was meant to be the grand opening was actually more of a large piles of sand in the middle of the bar and unfinished everything kind of complicated in a tangled mess of not ready.
(It was hard to take any photos of the actual club with all the renos going on there was limited access and getting around was quite an experience!!)
I decided that given the live construction and workers on site, the party wasn't going to be what it was amped up to be! Can't shoot a promo video when the place isn't even set up yet!
Obviously it wasn't the wild, spring break kinda party that was being promoted!
On the way out, I was thanking the promoter for the invite when I was asked to be a bigger part of the future of this new place to be! We shall see! ;)

Haha yes, everything takes much longer than expected. I swear even the rice takes longer to cook! ;) It was really fun though to be honest I didn't stay long since it was kind of just a big construction project! I have a lot of offers going on right now so I can't say I'm going to take this anywhere but it's a fun idea! We'll see =D
This was actually the night before I moved to my new house! It came at such a perfect time to give me a reprieve! I'll have to make it back down there and snap some better photos :)
