"We cherish the way you make the images come alive off the page..."

Congratulations to the winner's of Week 2 - found here

Thanks again for participating in the re-vamped Poetry Dice Challenge 3000! I really wanted everyone to have another opportunity to be inspired by a semi-structured poetry contest that is unique. Rory's Story Cubes have been an inspiration for me for many years, and Steemit has provided an opportunity for me to share that inspiration with you.

Rules

  1. All 9 images must be referenced at least once, each. Images are interpreted loosely. How you interpret (or assign the image meaning) is up to you and does not count against you.
  2. Make your first tag #poetrydice, so I can find your entry.
  3. Put a link to your post in the comments section (below). Feel free to message me your link in steemit.chat (optional).
  4. Please submit no more than 3 entries. If you wish to write more than 3 poems per roll, that is fine. I just ask that you clearly label which 3 are your official entries.

Deadline to enter contest is next Saturday at Midnight PST (UTC-7).
Winners will be announced weekly.

Prizes

The prizes may not seem like much, but I want everyone to have an opportunity to be inspired by the fates of the poetry dice.

2nd Place (3 STEEM)

Want to co-judge or guest judge?

Please Note:

  • If you are a judge, you are not allowed to win the contest.
  • You may still enter for fun, but your entries will not be considered part of the competition.

Please message me in steemit.chat/direct/robyn.eggs (if you wish to be anonymous). Otherwise, leave a comment or reply letting me know that you would like to judge.

In the second week, we had one volunteer co-judge - @mamdini, winner of the first week's contest! Thanks for coming on board last week to help illuminate shining poets. Your feedback was very valuable to the community. You are free to enter this week's contest. Good luck to all who enter!

***Please only use the "poetrydice" tag for official entries to the contest! 👮🏿‍

I will be flagging any user who intentionally misuses this tag.

Flagging a post can remove rewards and make this material less visible. Some common reasons to flag:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or Plagiarism
  • Hate Speech or Internet Trolling
  • Intentional miscategorized content or Spam

Things to consider when competing for the best poem entry:

  • grammar / Does it make sense?
  • flow / Does the reader experience any hiccups, jerks or missing beats?
  • rhythm
  • rhyme
  • imagery / Can the reader imagine what the author is writing?
  • feeling / Does it cause a reaction?
  • and emotional pull / Does the reader take sides?

Please don't over-analyze your own poems

We all do it too much. Never judge your own poem too harshly. If you love it, then someone else loves it too, just the way it is. If it speaks to you - it's good. And not all poetry is meant to rhyme, either. If it sounds good and makes sense - if it changes the reader at all - it's good. We want to know what the dice say to you.

We cherish the way you make the images come alive off the page...

And each author has a unique and inspiring way of writing their entry, which is what makes this challenge so valuable and fun to participate in. You are really only challenging yourself! :-) Prost! Cheers! Salud!

Thanks for your entry - I see it now :-)

This is everything and totally needs to be said. :)

well said and very true!

I'm having trouble making out what that top left die has on it @robyneggs. It is a rectangle with smaller rectangles and lines inside, so I have no idea what it is? Any hint? I almost want to say it's an old table top radio

it could be : radio, cassette tape, vhs tape, transmitter, machine, robot, electrical circuit, etc...

Also looks like it could be a postcard, or letter... tv tray... hmmm... it's odd.

great post!

Thanks Babe! Hope you join! XO

Here is my entry, I'm afraid the 'poetry' is rather lame,
But I bring it here for your perusal, just the same
https://steemit.com/poetrydice/@jerrytsuseer/poetry-dice-challenge-week-three

It is far from being my best effort.
I've been busy these last 4 hrs printing and collating lyrics for my new book.

I just finished with the new book and index...man that proved to be far more than I anticipated; I should have started on it days ago.
Now, I must get something to eat, shower and get dressed for my gig this afternoon.

luck!!!! break a leg! :D

natch. Had a great performance (a few minor glitches) I stopped by another client of mine on the way out, got some encouraging words about a booking in Aug, then less than a mile from that client, I had a fender bender, more damage to my van than her Audi, but I can live with mine, I don't want this claim to go to the insurance, so if they get an estimate, and it isn't too very expensive (it's an AUDI, how can it not be expensive...it's JUST a SCRATCH!!!) I will pay for the repair out of pocket, which will hurt dearly.
The thing is, the policeman, ASKED her if she wanted to file "A REPORT", he said it was up to her, that if we wanted to take care of it between us, it was cool, he wasn't required.
She said that she thought, IF she filed an ins claim, they would require a police report.
I asked if there were a fee to file a "report", he said he didn't know what I meant.
When he came back, he issued me a CITATION, complete with court date and probable fine of at least $150!!!
And he ASKED her. When did it become a civilians choice as to a citation being issued?
