- to check how many posts I’ve got going, STEEM/SBD price, and upcoming payouts
steemnow by @peguinpablo
-to check my power levels, incoming votes, rewards and new posts from other so I can go visit them.
- I send it to minnows all the time when they vote for me with low power and try to help them improve.

I never believed I could lose weight until I did it. Now I know that anyone can do it with a mindset change. How I wish this success had come earlier in my life, but better late than never.
Obviously steemd.com by roadscape, the only blockchain explorer that shows true "VP", and then steemblockexplorer.com by penguinpablo when steemd.com fails to show other data, and as a third place, jesta's steemdb.com.
steembottracker is not a blockchain explorer.
Usability without Javascript permissions is a huge push up the preference ranks for me, and this holds for all websites, not only to steem blockchain explorers.

You are talking so far over my head! I do not know what true or untrue vp is. What kind of data are you finding in these places?
I use steemnow by @penguinpablo, but I have not heard of the other people you mention or the apps.
Are you using bidbots on your comments?
"VP" is what they called voting quota. They called it "voting power".
I thought over 95% of steemit users use steemd.com.

I have never heard of it. I check my voting power at steemnow. What do you do with it aside from checking power? lol of the 95% - I am one of the 5% I guess.
I have heard of people not liking you to upvote your own comments so I never do it. But I did not know you could use bots on them. I would think you'd get some grief for that.
I might need to check steemnow myself and compare it with steemd.com to see if it shows my true VP, because there are times when steemd.com is down.
steemd.com shows me almost everything.
Times of comments and votes, "VP"s of other accounts, bids at each bidbot, deleted comments after they were deleted, and these can not be read through steemit.
steemd.com also shows me for any account, the list of witnesses it votes to.
And more.
Without it I feel that using steemit is like driving or walking blindfolded.
Some bidbots vote on comments.
I refuse to spam with threads, so I reward my own comments.
There are occasional costs to it, as you implied, but it is still manageable and profitable if done well.
I would not take anyone's advice not even with several grains of salt from someone that knowingly, and routinely blows up a bot upvote at the last second to 29% loss to stick it intentionally to everyone that bid before them.
When the spam part of the bid is big enough, it should be done.
Works better than downvote in my case.
This is another reason to why I bid: to fight spam.
Interesting, that's actually a pretty good response. I see your point, I just prefer you hit the individuals at once, but hey, it's your money if that's how you want to let it go great. You are punishing me every once in a great while and making the bot owners much more rich (on a small scale) than they already are. If you like everything just the way it is keep doing this, very little will change, especially nailing the small vote bots like that. Although you do bring up a very valid point and if you pointed me toward obvious spam I would be happy to downvote them with you. You and I want to see a very similar result in this daily garbage to stop, doing this, I also would rather not ever have to downvote anything, and have actually down voted on here twice in six months, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. I don't like inserting myself in other people's business unless they insert themselves into mine, otherwise I wouldn't have said anything but chalked it up to yet another reason to use bid bots again.

I am sorry for crashing your post, I mentioned that comment with absolute sarcasm, I wish there was a font for that. I usually am smart enough to vent with my (poor) buddies on discord when details like this go on. Usually I really don't even care, the bid amounts come and go. My frustration went with the bots and that is clearly my problem. Sorry again, enjoy the rest of your day!

Not one of those things matters to me and I don't know why you would care.
Whatever this "true vp" thing is has passed me by. I just watch my power at steemnow and that's it.
I'm kind of insulted that you keep upvoting all your comments but you did not upvote my post. One of us is making money here on my post but it's not me.
As far as voting for witnesses - my vote is not relevant to that game so I really do not care about it. Who anyone else votes for as a witness - omg - I cannot imagine a reason I need to know that one.

I guess I'll need to go check out kryptonia. I've been trying but steemit has been acting kind of weird most of the day. Everything else I've heard of and at least looked at expect for the browser extension steemitmoreinfo. It's amazing how many tools there are out there for exploring the blockchain and no two are quite a like. That said, not two seem to have it all, so we wind up using multiple ones to get the information we need.

Yeah. The sad thing for me is, a lot of this knowledge we need to know should be things happening behind the scenes without us. I know they're going for decentralization and knowledge among the users and transparency, and I appreciate it all to the extent that it truly exists, but do i really need to be versed in reward pool to payout conversions? The way things work, yes we do. But could they work in a different way that would make knowing all of that obsolete? Probably. :)

I think I like Steemit the least when it's kind of in between working and not working. When it's down, at the very least you know nothing worked. When it's hit and miss, I just sit here wasting time to see if the spinning green button is going to accept my upvote, comment or resteem. Totally annoying!
I know, I know, it's still in beta. Got to be the oldest modern day beta, ever. It's kind of like saying the twenty-year-old is still a baby because he lives at home with his parents. :)
