Weekly Country representative report | updates -Uganda steemit meet-up(Masaka region)| community curator 04 -30th/05/2021

I travelled to Masaka on 28th/05/2021 and met up with a group of new steemians in Masaka district. It was quite a long journey by bus. I left Kampala at around 11 am and reached Masaka at 1:30 pm. I had taken quite a long time minus having such long journeys.

I was received by @faithilyn and @amazing-grace. They took me for lunch at one of the restaurants in a place called Nyendo (Masaka). I had a nice heavy meal of boiled chicken with a variety of different food types.

The meet-up was held in one of the Class rooms of the later day saints chapel premises. It was a nice and perfect place for the meet-up. It was my very first time to meet up with these new steemians. They were so excited to see me. I shared with them about steemit. They were inspired. Most of them were new people who knew nothing about steemit. Through the meet-up, they had the opportunity to hear and learn about steemit for the very first time.

I helped some of them in creating their steem accounts. You will soon see their introductory posts. They will most probably post their introductions with their steemit shirts on.

I delivered the Steemit-shirts that I had made for them. They were so happy. The new people felt the reality of steemit courtesy of the T-shirts I gave to them. They all put on their T-shirts. We later had a group photo after the meet-up before departing and returning back to Kampala.

I returned back to kampala in the night, very exhausted from that long trip. I am glad I was able to meet up with the new steemians that far side. They learnt plenty of things about steemit. I am looking forward to seeing them actively participating on this platform.
